That's interesting. I would have figured Blue Cheer was the most recognized, but maybe that's only because it's my favorite version of the song.

That Faith Hill version of Piece of My Heart might be good if you've never heard the Janis Joplin version, or didn't like Joplin, but for me the Hill version is formulaic and lacks heart.

I can never post these dang videos correctly but I am always struck by "I Will Always Love You", Dolly Parton and Whitney Houston.

Recently I heard "Without You" as done originally by Badfinger. Nilsson's version is better known. Mariah Carey has also had a big hit with it but her version didn't seem too different from Nilsson's. Certainly not as different as Badfinger.

The Stones did a cover of a great Rythm-n-blues cut.
It sounds great until you hear the original.
I can't remember the name of the cut or the name
of the original band.

9:30pm tonight, NJTV is showing "Muddy Waters and the Rolling Stones live. Perhaps it was something they did on this show. I watched a few months ago. It was an interesting snapshot in time (1981).

The show included Buddy Guy, Junior Wells and Lefty Dizz. Some of the songs:
