Batteries can be made of wood, these days, and the components in the battery tested by scientists at the University of Maryland are a thousand times thinner than a piece of paper.

A battery made of wood?

This is interesting. It's also something I don't want to hear. Another reason to cut down more trees. I hope that maybe this leads to the discovery that they can be made from hemp. Now that's real environmentalism.

Makes ya kind of wonder though -- is the reason we don't find more technology from the past because it was biodegradable? We have the Baghdad batteries so we know the Egyptians understood the concept. What if the majority of their power came from something like this? We may never find out about it.

It looks like it's from recycled wood, so I guess that's environmentally friendly.

Given the growth rate of kudzu, I've often wondered if it could be similarly useful.

Kudzu can be used to make biofuel - but the energy used to turn kudzu into fuel is too high for it to make sense.

We need to find a way to create energy from the growth of kudzu - wow, that would be some power!
