It is worse than we thought but it shows the damage humans do when they interfere with nature. Fungus is a natural growth and fungicides have side effects no one thought of.

That information was discovered a couple years ago.
What happened then was the company that was created for the sole purpose of studying colony collapse (Beelogics) was bought by Monsanto within days of making the discovery that pesticides where responsible.

Now that's depressing. It's not a good time to be a bee.

Kay with companies like Monsanto and Bayer calling the shots, it's not a good time to be human either

This report was by University of Maryland and USDA researchers, which I don't think is the same as Beelogics. And, it seems to pinpoint the problem more than previous research.

I agree that Monsanto and Bayer are not good. Also, the whole pesticide model is flawed to begin with and has gotten out of hand. However, I think there are enough aware good guys, researchers, and journalists that I see things a bit more optimistically.

Dan as long as companies like Monsanto and Bayer control the government it doesn't matter how many good guys are out there. What we need is for our government to stop taking their money and influence and listen to the facts.
When the head of the USDA is a Monsanto supporter whenever a report showing the bad effects of a bio-tech technology is reported, it will be ignored.
Look at the links between Glyphosate and human and animal health. As more and more studies come out showing a link between Glyphosate and health problems and the increase of the chemical in our water supply what has our EPA done? Raise the allowable limit of Glyphosate in our water, food, and soil.
A long as the FDA, EPA, and USDA as well as most of congress and the President are controled by Monsanto all the studies in the world won't change a thing.

One possible solution to many of our challenges would be to make it 100% unlawful and illegal (they have 2 separate meanings under the law) to derive any benefit other than your pay either now or at any point in the future for your time in office.
That would be from clerks to Presidents and anyone in between. You would not be able to enrich yourself, family, corporations you serve on, prior business associates either now or in the future.

Take away the greed and you remove the motivation to do 90+ % of all the garbage they do.

Yeah - we tried that already. Guess who were the people that got to vote it down? As long as the people who gain are the ones that get to vote on it, we'll see nothing change. Until we make it illegal again for the news to lie to the public, nothing will change.

Remember CA - where they voted just to get labeling and it failed? There was a purposely libelous campaign by Monsanto and pals to stop labeling. Sure, they got sued for some of the lies later - but people weren't allowed to vote again after they found out they were lied to. The lawsuit was in response to the FDA logo being fraudulently used in ads against prop 37.

And - a judge ruled that the news media had a first amendment right to LIE - not just spin stuff around but outwardly LIE to us. This ruling happened around the time we went to Iraq -- but was in reaction to a lawsuit over Fox news reporting that RGHB in milk (another MONSANTO delight) was good for us or some such even though it was already known to cause cancer in humans. That was over 10 years ago.

People are catching on. Out here in OR and WA there have been areas designated Organic only and pesticides are not allowed to be used in whole regions. Those regions are fighting to keep that right against the tyrants, though. We've gotten a few states that finally got labeling GMOs passed -- and we now have activists who are just done with the purposeful death and destruction and are burning fields of Monsanto crops, which is probably the way we're going to have to go at it.

While some people are being "optomistic" Monsanto is trying to make secret trade deals to get its poisons back into the EU.

If you are going to be optimistic about something - be optimistic that there are still people who are so sick and tired of being treated like cows for the slaughter that they will take Monsanto and friends apart brick by brick. There DOES come a time that taking to the streets is the only way to stop tyranny - and when the tyranny is murdering us and destroying the world, we're just going to have to consider that we have to get out on the streets to stop it. Tyrants don't just stop being crazy because we can send petitions to them. Expecting them to give a crap is as crazy as they are.
