Simple cold and flu treatment?

I never thought or heard about using good ole hydrogen peroxide this way.

I have had my first lingering cold/congestion cough thing in years. (Darn housekeepers and their kids finally gave me something.) Last night I started gargling and putting drops in my ears. It really seems to be helping. The guy in the videos says to use when you feel a cold or flu coming on.

Since it seems to help, I figure I'd share.

I've heard of that method. I haven't had a cold in years so can't say I've ever tried it though. I've cured so many things naturally, like carpal tunnel syndrome, it's amazing. I'm working on a report right now about natural cures and remedies.

Forget the drugs folks... go natural. It works, it's cheap, and no side effects - can't get any better than that!

I'm a big fan of ACV myself. I take it for my arthritis mostly.
I also get a daily dose of coconut oil and bananas.

Careful about calling it a cure though, or you might get in FDA/FTC trouble.
(Hence, I changed the title even though I'm not selling anything.)

I have housekeepers because I manage a hotel, not because I'm wealthy.

I'm using more vinegar and baking soda for some of the cleaning we have to do around here. Cheap and effective and natural.

It will be a few weeks though. I'm completely redoing my website and am in the process of getting several reports ready to put on it.

Highly effective solution is a mixture of chopped garlic and honey. 100% organic and no side effects of the drugs.

I've used H202 for about everything and what I can say is you need to be extremely careful. DO NOT use this stuff internally if you do not know exactly what you are doing.

When putting it in your ears, it will burn a little - a LOT if your ear is infected. It will also numb it out for awhile. It shouldn't be used often as it will just plain burn the tissue raw, but one dose one day and other a few days later.

I never used the internal treatment in full. The stuff is dangerous, and there ARE side effects. I used to put a drop to three drops in a full bottle of water to drink when I was hiking at altitude, but chose other methods for illness. I also brush my teeth with it, being very careful not to swallow.

What is a little less risky is salt water. You can make it fairly strong for ears, weak for purging sinuses and rinsing eyes. It does the same thing - annihilates germs of all kinds.

If you want to avoid colds, the best thing is to make sure you have a lot of vitamin C and Vitamin D3 (sunshine when possible) in your system. Viruses do not take well to either one, and a shortage of either one is just inviting flus and colds in.

Just to clarify for everybody else, Russ' internal use was medically supervised and given as an example of the effectiveness of hydrogen peroxide.

For the cold or flu, he suggesting one treatment of three drops per ear and letting it sit in the ear for five to ten minutes before draining each ear.

I guess I got the idea of gargling on my own, and don't ingest because you want to get everything
    out and away.

Although I do get a lot of sun up here, Vitamin D pills have been effective for warding off colds in the past, but long story short, I don't have any right now and my favorite source for pills is miles away. (I should look on this thing called "internet", huh? lol )

Swallowing H202 can burn your insides...remember they are kinda raw in the first place. You need to dilute it a LOT just to avoid burn.......and diluted, it doesn't take much to induce vomiting. They give an infusion to animals who ingest anti-freeze to make them chuck it up.

As far as "no sun" and "pills" -- got a table lamp? Go to a pet store and get a couple of full spectrum "lizard lights". Those are lights put in the cages of reptiles so that they don't suffer from D shortages due to no sunlight. Just put the bulb in your lamp and sit and type in your undies. No need to take supplements. Supplements aren't the same anyway - sunlight creates a sulfur that your body needs to fight disease. The supplements give the D but does not create the sulfur that light on the skin does. NOTE: when I say D, I mean D3, not 2. D2 does nothing for you. It's a synthetic D that is NOT the same element as D3 at all.

Also try Apple Cider Vinegar (organic, non-pasturized) and Oil of Oregano.

Peroxide has been used for years to help with colds and flus. But the other two suggestions I just gave have been around since the great pyramid days. So yeah, for a while.

Salt is an awesome disinfectant. It's also a kick butt natural cleaner. I use it for almost everything. Shake some on your carpets and let it sit for an hour then vacuum - wow.

I normally pop a 1000mg Vitamin C tablet each day when I feel something coming on, and then continue for about a week after it has gone.
