Serious, someone just gave me their email and when trying to send I kept getting messages that, to me anyhow, were indecipherable. I tried everything to send that email short of calling the server to find out the problem...........then I noticed it. The email address said "at" instead of "@".

Yeah, I have had the SAME sort of thing. Not QUITE as bad as at and @, but the same sort of thing. I see something, or think something, and relate to the external world as if it were audio. In audio terms, at and @ are the SAME! Of course practically here and visually they're totally different.

My three-year-old son is already correcting me on things like when I mean "mango" but say "peach." When we're at the store, he reminds me to buy the thing I went to the store to buy, when it seems I forgot the mission of the trip.

Actually, I can understand slips when I'm double and triple tasking. It's when I'm actually thinking about what I'm doing (or think that I am, anyhow) that it makes me go to the corner and drool.

Yes Sal - more moron moments than I like to admit - it's not a 'senior moment' - it IS chronic 'information overload'.

Monday I was rejecting this guy's application over and over - telling him he already had files on his domain and he needed to buy a new domain.

He wrote to say but this is a new domain I have nothing on it. He included his receipt from the domain registration.

I fired back I didn't care if it was new or not, it had files so I can't use it, and if you don't believe me just click it and you will see a WP installation.

Finally he had to tell me that the domain had no 'j' in it like the one I was saying was used. I had looked at it no less than 5 times -

I had to say ' I am so sorry, I must be going blind' (blind, old and stupid besides)

Last month I ordered 2000 envelopes with my logo and return address.

I tripled checked the proof before approving the order. I swear everything was perfect.

Everything, apparently, except the name of my street, which was the one for my previous address. The one I haven't been at for over two whole years.

So, it was like this:

Correct Logo
Correct street number, old street name, correct suite number
Correct City, State, Zip

Then, after getting them, we sent out almost 700 in our monthly direct mailing.

Well I am glad I am not alone. I actually talked to my doctor because I am concerned about memory issues.
She said that, considering the amount of medications I am on and also the number of medical crises I am currently facing, it is no wonder my brain is melting down a little.

When you have a hospital that diagnoses you with pneumonia and then sends a report to the doctor saying you might actually have malignant lymphoma ON TOP of already having skin cancer on my nose and more surgery to come as well as numerous other issues, no wonder I feel like I am going mad.

  Today, I was online and saw a small icon in the corner of my screen telling me that one of my Skype contacts was online. I'm new to Skype. I assumed I was being contracted, and clicked the icon.
  
  We had a nice 5 minute chat until I said "Look, we are both busy business owners. What can I do for you? Why did you call?"

I couldn't open the garage door one day. Tried and tried! I needed to get the tractor out. So I called my husband wanting to know how to release the cord thingy.

Well, we argued for a few minutes about whether or not it was working! I'm like.. duh, I'm hitting the button and the only thing happening is the light is coming on!

All he said was "try the other button"... stinker hung up on me!!!!

Ya know, Sal. Moron Moments is an excellent all 'round title for a lot of things. I can see at least a half dozen reality shows that would work. I was joking about politicians but a weekly half hour showcasing the moronic statements of our "leaders" (bipartisan, of course) would probably go over well.

You could also do one with business leaders, celebs, athletes, education morons, the list could go on and on. The dot com is available too.

Indeed it might go over well, and it might actually prove to be a public service. That's a really good idea.

Nope - Central Oregon. Our weather has been downright bizarre this year. Never really got summer. I should sue Al Gore......he OWES me a summer. Tonight it was sleeting - near snow but not quite. We've had below freezing already and it did NOTHING good for the tomatoes.

But - we get sun between bouts of it. And you should see the double rainbows out here. This state has the most awesome rainbows I've ever seen - full bright bows and often double.

This weekend is supposed to be nice, so I'm gonna shut down early so I can get out and enjoy some rock hunting if the weather permits.

I sure hope I don't have any more moron moments for the weekend if I get out there. I'm thinking after today and a few little episodes yesterday, added to the one described on the OP - maybe I've got my quota covered for a few days.

BTW I had them change the slope, so the water drains as it should, so that is OK. STILL, it is surreal to see ice forming on the foundation because of condensation in the exhaust of a heater!

But summer is unfortunately the best time o hire people like me, so I don't see too many summers at home.

Many, and I believe you also, have said that the planet is changing orientation, so it is unreasonable to expect a particular spot on the planet to be the same, even with the same circumstances, and the same position in orbit.

Here's an idea ... how about a collaborative effort? Have several authors that all contribute when they have time. That way no one is burdened with a big project, and if enough contributors are added there would be plenty of fresh content.

You could even discuss ways to monetize later, it after it takes off.

I had another moron moment at the grocery store today. I was looking for lactose-free milk (for my wife) at the section where they've always put it, but there wasn't any there. That scared me -- when my wife doesn't have lactose-free milk for her morning coffee, her temper is something else. My 3-year-old son suggested, "Maybe they put it somewhere else this time." I said, "Why would they do that? They always--" Before I could continue yammering, my son ran to another cooler, pointed, and shouted, "Here it is!" It really was in a totally different place from the usual spot where they'd been putting it for years.

I was in a store one time. I went there for YEARS! I knew the store SO well that I browsed it in my head. I do that a LOT. I will browse things in my head, go to the stores in a sort of loop, and things run real quick. I ALSO loop store several times, like supermarkets maybe twice. Once for the non perishables and again for the perishables. Well, I went to a store once and they not only moved stuff, but they went from a logical and efficient row column structure, common in many stores, to a highly inefficient FAN structure! I am NOT kidding!

I actually ASKED them why they did that! They did it SPECIFICALLY to confuse people like me! SERIOUSLY!!!!!!!! Their reasoning? We would look elsewhere, and buy OTHER things! I don't think I EVER went there again! What could have taken me less than a minute ended up taking SEVERAL! Over 50% of their space was likely WASTED! And ALL to get people to physically browse the store!

BTW regarding new products in bigger stores, etc... Some stores treat them almost as consignment deals. The company pays THEM for space and they are paid on sales. If conditions change, their location may ALSO. So a BRAND new product may have a little kiosk. A well established companies product that needs exposure or may sell real well may be at the end of an isle. The popular stuff may be at eye level, and the poor stuff may be at ground level.

I can relate to your post thunderbird. I have experienced not finding things in the supermarket and eventually asking someone and they had indeed moved them, after a long time in the same place.
We have 2 of the same brand supermarket in the same shopping centre but I go to the same one every time because I know where most things are kept. If I have to go into the other one for some reason I feel totally lost.

I just remembered a really bad moron moment that happened over 8 years ago. I went to do some grocery shopping. I had my trolley full and then wheeled out to the car park to find my car. It was a big car park and it took me more than half an hour of searching and then I thought maybe it had been stolen. I was about to go and call security when I finally realised that...I had sold my car and had caught a taxi to the shops and needed a taxi to get home.

If that's not a moron moment, I don't know what is.

That's worse than me when I went shopping at Toys R Us for the grandbabies' Christmas presents. I thought to myself, "I'm just going to bring in my wallet, so I don't have to lug my purse all over the store." It's really crowded around Christmas, a veritable madhouse! I remember taking my wallet out of my purse.

Fast Forward to checkout: My items are all rung up, I grab my purse from the cart, open it and begin searching for my wallet. I begin silently freaking out as I can't find it!

Then I remember. I took it out of my purse to shop. Moronic me put the wallet down in my car, grabbed my purse out of habit, and then locked the doors. :rolleyes:

I was so embarrassed when I couldn't pay and they had to move all of my items aside and void out my purchases until I came back with my wallet and ring it all up again.

I work in Finance and one of many of my idiot moments came when I kept trying to dial one of our customers on my calculator... I guess I was tired. Well, I really wasn't but it makes me feel better.

I've had lots of experience but the most unforgettable ones was when I ordered a real good worth for dinner food in Mcdonald's and took some cheap shots on the fries. Later I realized my wallet was empty because I forgot to withdraw money in the ATM.
