Heard the aweber opt-in audio yet?

Testing my squeeze page, I signed up for my freebie.

It's double opt-in, so I have to confirm in the email. I went to my email box, clicked to open the email from aweber and...there's an audio (in additino to the regular text message) telling me I need to click to confirm!

I never knew about that.

If you're using aweber, go ahead and sign up on your own squeeze page and see what aweber sends you.

Could you imagine what we could do if we could customize that recorded message? That would be a trip to hear Bart Simpson telling us "Don't have a cow, man, just click on the link to confirm."

      GetResponse is all I can remember...

      I don't use Aweber (yet, going to for a new venture, I think) but I expect this will help. It's not something you see (hear) every day, or ever in my case, but soon it'll just get annoying as all the auto-responders start doing it.

      P.S. Star69, have you restricted yourself to posting in the off-topic area just to preserve your post count number? You've probably got thousands altogether and I've always wondered why I only see you here, and it feels like decades since you hit 69 posts.

      </curiosity>

    No, I've been over there many times since, I just didn't see anything to reply to.

    But you must admit, 69 is a wonderful number...

    I don't really like aweber's pricing structure as compared to getresponse, but my list is nowhere large enough to cost me more than $50 a month right now. Later on? I may be considering getresponse.

    One thing I don't like is once you sign up, the very next page you get (from aweber, the one with the audio) it mentions the word subscription all over the place. I can see some people seeing that and thinking, "Subscription? I thought I was getting a free report. I didn't sign up for a subscription, did I?" and some could be confused by that.

    That could kill some confirmations, in my opinion. I'm going to talk to the aweber folks about that. I'd like to see them change the wording on that page.

    And yes, that voice was a bit irritating to listen to, but at least it didn't keep droning on and on and on.
