When I type a search term in Google.com it asks me to enter a captcha, but when I enter the captcha it just goes back to the main search page at this url https://www.google.com/webhp?output=search

The same thing happens if I try another web browser also.

Is anyone else having this problem? It's infuriating.

Maybe you type-in the wrong character that's why it happened. :p

You can try to clear the cache as well as cookies then try again.

That's different. I've never seen that.

Are you doing a lot of searches using automated systems?

This happens to me as well, seemingly out of the blue. If my queries are on the same theme, Big G sends me to a captcha page as well. It's one of the reasons I switched at least have my searches to Bing.

I have no automated system other than some SEOBook tools which provide information on websites. That actually only works on Google search intermittently.

Hmmm. Looks like an anti-abuse system that might be a bit over-sensitive, then?
