If they were going to shoot a movie about this forum, which actors would you get to play the more well-known/infamous members here?

I'd either play Richard Van, Dan Riffle or Claude because I'd like to be able to fly.

I'm updating this as I think of people:

    Kay King -- Patricia Heaton
Heysal -- Loretta Swit (although we'd need a time machine to make her younger)
    Waterotter -- Allison Janney
Terra -- Kristen Chenowith (or a Kristen Chenowith sock puppet)
Thunderbird -- Emile Hirsch or James Franco, can't decide
    Horny Devil -- Ian McDiarmid
Laurencewins -- William Shatner (Good idea, Brady!)
Ken Caudill -- Tommy Lee Jones
Kurt -- John Lithgow(70% Footloose/30% 3rd Rock from the Sun w/ just a pinch of The World According to Garp)
KimW -- Clint Eastwood (basically playing his character from Gran Torino, but with less racism and more concern for his lawn and that you stay off it)
    Frank Donovan: Anthony Quinn
    Sunganani -- Denzel Washington
    Seasoned -- HAL 9000
    Shane -- Harland Williams
    Paul Myers -- Bocephus himself
    Big Robb -- Dave Grohl
Richard Van -- Dick Van Dyke (because he'd get the accent right)
Dennis Gaskill -- Bettie White (Just kidding...Richard Karn in a full flannel onesie)
    Claude Whitacre -- Dakota Fanning

Raising a child is akin to knowing you're getting fired in 18 years and having to train your replacement without actively sabotaging them.

      Yes, me too.

May I just add, I appreciate you getting Dickie in to play me. The accent might be tricky but at 88, I believe he may not really be representative of buoyant youthful looks.

      Or hair colour.

I'm assuming we'll go back in time and nab the one from Mary Poppins?

I suppose he looks good for 88. What's 50 years difference in a realistic film anyway?

He has a good jaw line too.

Hmm. A sort of David Niven/Marlon Brando cross. That's uncannily accurate.

I picture you with the raw animal magnetism of Jack Nicholson mixed with the urbane, erudite wit of Woody Allen.

I only recognize the names of about half the people you listed. Can you tell I'm not a TV/movie buff?

Okay, I'll take a stab at it...

Dennis - Burt Reynolds (must be the mustache)
Claude - Sean Connery (Last Knight) just the right mix of intelligence and wisdom
Steve (seasoned) - Dustin Hoffman (in Rain Man)
Dan Riffle - Adam Sandler (he makes me laugh and can be such a smart a$$)
Shane -Tommy Lee Jones (Men in Black) he sees things we cannot see
Kim - Jack Lemmon (Grumpy Old Men) need I explain?
Big Rob - Bob Seger (I don't know why, he just reminds me of him...)
Laurence - Bert Lahr (as I previously posted)

Uhh, that's all I got for now...

I came up with what I could - you aren't the only one I had to leave out just because I really don't follow stars and just didn't know what to do about them. I'm not convinced I was anywhere close with a few of them. I think Terra nailed ya, though. I think everyone did a lot better than I did.

I think I should have just picked a few shows and labeled people from the cast of particular shows instead. Would have been easier.

          Dan,
I was going for Hank's brat.
Cool. Just wanted to know if I was being cast as the artist or the dummy this time.

I'm okay with either role, mind you, but if it's the dummy, I want a say in who gets to pull my strings.

When I saw Loretta Swit suggested for Sal, my only thought was, "Yep. That works."

I'm surprised no-one picked Roz Kelly for Terra. She's got experience as the "powerhouse in pink," after all.

For Dennis, may I suggest Frank Morgan?

Hmmm. I suppose that beats Grandpa Jones.

For some reason, Richard reminds me of a young Gregory Peck. (That fits with his "strong jaw" requirement, I suspect.)

For Claude, I'm thinking Alfred Hitchcock. Dan, maybe Alfred E. Newman. (If we go with those, it's likely OT could start a whole new kind of "Al"-Anon...)

            Thanks Richard, that was terrible!

Yep, Aussie day was hotter than a live shrimp on a barbie!

So hot that swinging a dead kangaroo around would be too much exertion!

Certainly flinging a Koala or Wombat into the micro would create to much heat, and certainly adding a Cane toad for seasoning would be overkill!

A good day to go down to the Billabong, and dive for Yabbies, but watch out for the occasional, twit with a few sheep in his jumbuck!

But usually most Australians make a bee line for the nearest barbecue, and get p*** out of their minds!

I've been chewing on this a bit. Strong American accent?

I'm not sure how you came up with that. I mean within America, there are a lot of regional accents like Midwestern, Eastern Coastal, Northern (as in Minnesota), and Southern for instance.

And even within the Southern, there are Texan accents that don't sound like those from Georgia or Louisiana or Kentucky or Alabama. I don't sound like them at all.

So if you heard one of those voices, what would you say to them? Just curious.

Probably have to fling some Cane Toads at him, to subdue him?

Not familiar with the book, but good to know that there are lots of Irish over here, could explain the insanity in higher office decisions.

            Whinging Pom, eh, ok!

            Related eh, could be?

I'm not sure how you came up with that. I mean within America, there are a lot of regional accents like Midwestern, Eastern Coastal, Northern (as in Minnesota), and Southern for instance.

And even within the Southern, there are Texan accents that don't sound like those from Georgia or Louisiana or Kentucky or Alabama. I don't sound like them at all.

So if you heard one of those voices, what would you say to them? Just curious.

I am just going by the R's! If l watch MASH for example, Loretta Swit, has a reasonably strong American accent, but someone like Charles, isn't as strong, (he probably has some English in there)?

I think that if l came across a southern, (hillybilly accent) l would probably be laughing!

But if they had a gun, l wouldn't as much!

Another amazing read and this was given to me by an Aussie relative is called "For the term of his natural life". Horrific story but then again, it wasn't a particularly nice life for those transported.

You never know Shane. About 20 years ago I was picking tomatoes in Childers up in QL. I was there a few months as I tried to save more cash for travelling and at the same time, help the locals keep the beer delivery drivers firmly employed. I think in the end the beer deliverers were over worked and I left completely broke.

However, one day while sitting at the bar (I believe it was called the Grand) I was chatting to an elder, weather worn, hard as nails Aussie mechanic. We chatted for a while before he asked me where I was from. He suddenly looked all shocked and told me the hospital he was born in. Turns out it was the same one I was born in.

              Not related but fairly close-ish.

In all fairness, a vast majority of the crimes people were transported for would barely get you a slap on the wrist nowadays. Not saying you should look up your family tree or anything.

I just wish those in charge at the time had had the sense to have done it the other way round and made Britain a big prison.

Shrimp or cow? Yes, definitely a no brainer.

Is it too early for this kind of discussion?

I'd say she looks much more like her that Nicks.
Or at least from the picture she used to have. I've never seen her in person.

I have and you are right, she looks more like Loretta Swit than Stevie Nicks, but I must also add that she is much more gorgeous than either of them. Seriously! She has the classic facial structure of all of the late great movie stars back when actresses were all glamorous.

I know the feeling, Dennis. I had to stretch for the ones I listed. I don't watch a lot of video of any type so the list I made is about all of the stars I know by name. LOL There were a couple more but I couldn't think of anyone that they'd associate with in any way. Oh well - I gave it a shot.

I had Loretta Swit for Sal too. Shane, maybe it's just the hat that reminds you of Sal's avatar from a couple years ago.

Here's my pick for someone to play Kim:

He's not an actor, but a fine musician. I don't think Kim would mind.

Dennis, I have had people tell me I look like him,and that was back in the day when we both had long hair and neither of us had grey in the beard.

Now if you could just sing and play the guitar like John, eh?

I wouldn't have made the Foxworthy association on my own, but now that you mention it, yeah, there's some resemblance there.

It won't be me that disagrees. Heretics and Privateers is one of my favorite albums of all time. The music is excellent, and some of the lyrics are just plain brilliant, IMO.

Wow. Uh.........no. I don't look like Nicks - but holy cow, what a compliment! You keep right on thinking that way!

Terra - that was over the top. Really. I do have some good bone structure, but am not someone you'd particularly notice in a crowd -- especially at my age.

I also don't look like Loretta Switt but have some of her bone structure, I guess.

I'm not blond. It's a light flaxy brown. Well - it was, now it's Clairol light flaxy brown if I do anything to it - if not........it's grey. Still a little pepper in the salt bun not much.

I didn't choose the stars for people by their looks - I chose them because of the type of people their characters seem to be. That's probably why you were puzzled TB.

I haven't seen Stevie in a few years, but the last I saw of her she's still gorgeous --- and looks not one iota like me. I don't see one feature in common actually. Swit, I can at least "get".

Story -- about Terra. This is for the guys that were talking about her voice over website.

She had to build a website. Because she couldn't have customers call her on the phone.
When I got back to my dad's one year I called her to tell her I was in town (she only lives 10 miles or so from my dad). I got her answering machine and laughed out loud long and hard. You would have sworn that it was Mini Mouse answering the phone. Later years when she started voice overs, I laughed again. I was wondering what she would use for her message -seeings how Disney would be upset if she called her service Disney Voice Overs.

Priceless. Got to say that she sounds much less animated on her website.

What needs to be remembered is that both of those women are quite some bit older than I am. If you take the pic of me at 50 and compare them to the women at the same ages, I have traits in common with Swit - none with Nicks. I just hope I look as good as either of them when I get to be their ages.

Shane - Charles has the accent of the elite rather than a geographical accent. Terra's "strong" accent is actually standard American.

I took that into account, Sal. I was concentrating on older pics of her. I think we need to cross Swit, Joni Mitchell, and someone else to get you fully covered.

Standard American, ok, l will have to remember that when l come over!

It will be like stepping into another world!

But as long as l remember to tip, and avoid all l can eat buffet's, and force myself to drive on the wrong side of the road, l should be ok!

Funny thing about the road one, l saw someone this week in a red corvet, (top down) well best guess, it was a sportscar!

And when l pulled into the petrol station behind him, l realized the steering wheel was on the wrong side!!!

      Illegal is Au, l think?

If l went to England, l would probably feel like l have stepped into a Harry potter movie!

Edward D. Wood Jr if he were still with us.

Russ Meyer or Ken Russell would be my second and third choices respectively, provided they haven't joined Wood.

As for genre, I'm going with adult musical or maybe a horror comedy.

Now, what should we call this movie? Warrior Forum the Movie is too generic. We need something that ravishes the eyes and mind like a WSO.

Okay, Okay! I know I've not been very active here on the WF lately but at least
give me a part as someone standing in the crowd.

I'm thinking that everyone should play their own roles if there were to be a WF movie created.
Each person here has something special about them and for some reason I don't think anyone
could properly reproduce these personalities on film.

    Have a Great Day!

PS, at this stage for me it would be like reading the book and then watching the movie...

Dennis, You should be use to that by now. Hell, at least you were thought of
        and included in the movie cast. {Michael: "Kicks can and walks down the road"}

Used to it, yes, I just didn't get to be Leonardo very long.

By the, I think I've told you before you look like my brother. If someone other than you plays you, I nominate him.

Of course, it's kind of hard to see you in that picture. Maybe you don't look as much alike as it seems.

Okay - Mike, see what ya miss by not ever being around anymore?

Now isn't that a skull cap you have on in your pic (it's small and hard to see). How 'bout Van Deisel? He's kinda the skull cap type of guy, too.
