And I thought Facebook was going under?

MARK Zuckerberg and his wife, Priscilla Chan, were the most generous American philanthropists in 2013, with a donation of 18 million shares of Facebook stock valued at more than $US970 million ($A1.09 billion) to a Silicon Valley nonprofit in December.

With the information sharing he's involved with on FB - I can't take this seriously. There's been a lot of awards to people who least deserve them over the last few years.

I am wondering who the "non-profit" - I didn't see the name of it mentioned. I wonder because I want to know who owns this "non-profit" and what they claim to be doing with it. I won't pat Z on the back until it is clear it's not money laundered for a political agenda or party before I get excited.

Facebook Inc. CEO Mark Zuckerberg is donating another $1 billion worth of stock to the Silicon Valley Community Foundation, in the latest installment of the 29-year-old Internet mogul's pledge to spend more than half his wealth on philanthropy.

The donation is "by far the largest gift in our history," said Emmett Carson, CEO of the Mountain View, Calif.-based foundation, which will help Zuckerberg allocate the donated assets in coming years. Carson declined to say how the money will be used, but added: "We believe this gift will immensely improve the lives of people here and elsewhere."

LOL - seem to be hit by some brain atrophy tonight. Thanks. I read it as "a" silicon valley - not "the" sillicon valley.

I hope spring gets here before I totally lose my reading comprehension skills completely. Need some heavy duty sunshine on the head for awhile, I think.
