Not boric acid, epson salts.

Take about 6 tablespoons of epsom salts and add just enough DISTILLED water to make a slightly watery paste.

The water will actually make the volume of epson salts less than before adding water. The texture is a little like making a glaze from powdered sugar and milk.

Disconnect the balltery.

Remove the battery caps from your battery and put about a tablespoon of the mixture into each of the 6 "holes".

If you can, shake the battery a bit to get the epsom salts to move around the inside of the battery a bit.

Charge the battery.

Epsom salts is actually magnesium sulfate, and a main cause of batteries dying is that sulfate builds up inside the batter. Adding epsom salts will clean out the sulfate.

If you have a 3 year battery, and it's been 3 years and 1 month, it's likely a sulfate issue. Those engineers are really good at designing batteries with a pretty precise life expectancy. Using epson salts regularly though, could easily double the battery life. It did for me.

I didn't read your OP very well...since your battery is still working, just pour in the epson salts solution and take it for a drive so the vibration from driving will splash the solution all around in battery.

Repeat every 6-12 months to extend the life of your battery and get the most power from it.

Yep - it's still running, just getting old. I just got under the hood for some maintenance and saw my posts were corroding so cleaned those up and remembered you wrote that your formula worked real well. I just couldn't remember or find what it was.
