    Check this post: http://www.warriorforum.com/off-topi...ml#post9144304

Make sure you also have an updated antivirus program running once completing the scans.

Get Ad Block. End of story.

    https://adblockplus.org

This link defaults to the Chrome version, but there are versions for IE and Firefox too. Just do a search.

Adblock won't help any spyware etc. that's already installed on the computer.

Last week I downloaded Snagit from the manufacturer's site. It came with a surprise. I ended up with a little gem called Search conduit. It sets itself up as your default search engine and highjacks all your searches, sending you to a bunch of spammy sites and offers. It took me two days to get rid of it. And even after it was gone it was still in my registry.

I downloaded Malwarebytes and that sucker was like a computer enema. Clean and happy once more. I'd still suggest setting up Adblock after the enema.

Years ago, when the WWW came to life, I ended up with a bunch of crap on my computer. I took it to my IT repair guy.

He put Malwarebytes & Spybot Search & Destroy on my computer. I've used both programs ever since and have NEVER had an issue.

These two programs work great together.

I liked Malwarebytes enough to upgrade to the paid version. There's no difference other than I get automatic updates.

Spybot only allows you to donate, if you wish to.

Malwarebytes should be enough. There's another product that I used to use whenever my PC misbehaved. It's called SUPER Antispyware and it has a free version.

Get a good Anti-Virus. I've used ESET Smart Security for almost 2 years now and never had a problem.

He didn't know you bought it from Ebay, you didn't say that so he probably thought it was a new computer from a shop, he was just suggesting if that was the case you could just take it back and replace it after 3 days.

Fortunately you don't need to do that but you do need to be more careful what sites you visit as they've done a good job of infecting the computer.

I'm glad you fixed it though.

If you can figure out what file name or company the virus is, get revo uninstaller and have the program eliminate anything and everything associated with it. I got a virus on this computer here 3 days ago. It brought in a string of trojans, and every time I ran a scan and got rid of it, it rewrote itself back in. It made my anti virus block me from getting my internet connection completely.

I got a friend of my dad to get me back on the internet, and to scan the computer. And my boyfriend and I had figured out what the file/company name was earlier. After my dad's friend scanned it and cleaned it, I downloaded revo uninstaller and searched for it, and sure enough...file was still hiding. Revo sniffed it out, and uninstalled anything and everything attached, associated, or remotely reeked of that thing.

Here I am, computer good and squeaky clean.

Revo is also good for uninstalling pesky toolbars on your internet browser that you just can't seem to get rid of.

Call your tech support, and have them walk you through a clean wipe of your hard drive, and reinstall the operating system.

Since it's only 3 days old, there is no sense in trying to keep anything from the past 3 days....so just wipe it clean and start over.

Agreed. Bust out those source cd's and re-image (get tech support to help you out). Then right away throw on good protection like malwarebytes, kaspersky (or a free internet security suite) and finally bufferzone (puts all your browsers and other progys in a sandbox). Best of luck.

I'm glad malwarebytes did it for you. That's what I always suggest when someone has malware. If you use Firefox(PLEASE tell me you're not using IE!) get the NoScripts plug in and it will keep any pop ups from coming up and also block most ads on web pages.(Not all though.)

    Malwarebytes and Ad-aware...

You can't use a popup blocker because it won't get rid of the root problem
