SquirrelMail Problem?

I figured I'd post this here as some of Warriors probably use SquirrelMail and may have encountered this.

I was using SquirrelMail earlier and everything was fine. Well I tried to log back in to my mail account just now and I received the following error:

Error connecting to IMAP server: localhost.
111 : Connection refused

I have absolutely NO IDEA what that means. I have done NOTHING to my squirrelmail settings or anything and actually just used it a few hours ago.

ANY information someone here could provide would be WONDERFUL.

    Is this a permanent error? If so, it sounds most like a username or password glitch. Now that might not be you, could be something has gone amiss at your host - which is who I'd ask.

    Having said that, why Squirrel mail? I did use it briefly a million years ago but Gmail is free and soooo much better IMHO.
