One can only speculate what would drive a person to commit horrible and bloody murder on innocent people. He stabbed his roommates to death with a knife, used his car to mow down other victims, and shot others. He seemed to imagine that total strangers had wronged him and that attractive young women in particular had somehow conspired en masse to reject him.

He seemed to have been wired differently from the get-go. His family started sending him to psychologists or psychiatrists when he was a child. Bad wiring, years of loneliness and alienation, compounded by a bizarre sense of entitlement may have all factored into his rampage. His family wasn't actually wealthy, but he had for a time spent his childhood in comparative privilege. Divorce, bad investments and who knows what caused his family to hit hard times while living amidst wealthy people. He wrote crap to the effect that he resented that.

Some mental health experts suggested his mindset was such that he was predisposed to commit murder and that if it hadn't been one thing that triggered his murderous rampage, it would have been something else. Could loneliness, alienation played a role in his skewed perspective? Some have even blamed it on societal misogyny and online clubs for sexually frustrated men. I can guess that the online groups might have affected his perspective, but find it erroneous to suggest that his crime was reflective of those groups any more than anything else in his life, But who knows... I found that his video and rationale resembled those of terrorists and cults that murdered innocent people, though he was acting solo. He actually wrote a disturbed tome about his life and mental state along with leaving those videos.Actual experts might be able to use all that to figure out what went wrong.

Like you said could be bad wiring.

It would be Interesting to see what insight Dr. James Fallon might have on this.
Or better yet what kind of insight our Resident 'pro-social' psychopath Claude might have on this.

Obviously some parts of the brain that control empathy and self control were very hindered

Sociopaths can't really be helped. It isn't a disease. It's the way the brain functions. There is usually damage (or lack of connection) in the Temporal lobe of the brain, the part that houses emotions. Not all sociopaths have a complete lack of function, it can be partial.

These people are incapable of experiencing empathy. Again, it is a matter of degree.

This young kid (in the video) shows other damage as well. And I don't know enough to guess what that is.

A Pro-Social Psychopath is a person who doesn't experience emotions in the same way most do. In fact, most emotional reactions are a mystery to a sociopath. but a Pro-Social Sociopath has an otherwise fully functioning brain, and has learned to process their emotions through the Cerebral Cortex....which also handles language and conscious thought..

Pro-Socials have to learn social behavior by studying other people and their reactions. They mimic the acceptable responses. They aren't necessarily violent, just not empathetic. In fact, they may be less prone to violence, because they are less prone to an emotional reaction..

A Sociopath has their symptoms brought on by experience and their environment. A Psychopath is born that way. But the terms are used interchangeably.

Some Psychopaths also suffer from damage to their frontal lobes of their brain. So they have very poor impulse control, and poor planning skills.

I thought about answering then, but didn't.

Today, I saw that the thread was bumped, I had a few minutes, and I thought "Maybe this will clarify a question that was asked".

He didn't approach women or ask them out or socialize and try to get to know them. He was incapable of normal social interactions with members of both sexes. His father hired counselors to teach him social interaction to no avail. His few friends attempted to coach him on socializing and meeting girls to no avail.

But as to whether or not he was ugly. He wasn't ugly. He was creepy looking. I can see nothing that would have been attractive to most women. It wasn't so much his actual features, although his looks left me completely cold, it was his lack of animation ... of realness. In his videos, it's as if he was rehearsing for a part. There was no real feeling and emotion there. He was a blank slate. In order to act normal, he would have to mimic what he thought normal was, and he thought a nice car and decent clothes and expensive sunglasses would bring girls flocking to him with no effort on his part. He was a sick dude.

I'm not sure about "coverup" but I do know that the sudden rash of mass shooters coincides with the gun law issues and the UN's push to get the US disarmed. And who knows what new patent they are playing with. Cell phones are not a benign instrument if you keep your eye on the US patent office.

Then you've got the media pushing on anything that helps gov agenda now. They keep hammering this crap and any lunatic in the country thinks they will get famous and be able to tell "their story".

Hard to tell what's going on in a country that's poisoned people this batshyte psycho.

It is IRONIC! The idea is that you get a government agency, or social function, to fail MISERABLY, and you will then be allowed to do ANYTHING!!!!!!! This is 100% OPPOSITE from common sense, corporations, and the bible. In the bible it tells just how such a person should be treated:

That being said I saw pictures and videos of the young killer. Just a little perplexed why he thought no girl would pay him the time of day or consider him reasonably attractive ? He looked fine to me. Plus, on top of that he had his parent's money and a nice BMW to cruise around in to pick up girls.

Must have been a real sick and delusional kid. The video is haunting and despicable.
