Do you read self-help books? What book(s) helped you the most?

Depends what your description of self help is.

I am reading Seneca. Is that self help?
I am reading mastery from robert green. Self help?

Once it helps you becoming smarter, is it then self help?

After obvious titles as chickensoup for the soul, it becomes a grey zone.

Read what you can apply today.

I particularly like Eckhart Tolle at the moment, he has some good video's and "The Power of Now" is a good read.

      I thought so anyway.

If you mean new age books? No.

If you mean books on business? Yes.

If you mean "Feel good about yourself" books? No.

Hmm. Sounds like you need help with your addiction. There's probably a book...Ah, maybe not.

My perennial self help book is "How To Solve Real Life Problems With 13th Century Superstitions"

Maybe I should work on the title, but the book's already been written under other titles.

How about "I'm OK, Just The Way I Am, So It Must Be Your Fault"

And my favorite "How To Feel Like You're Going To Get Rich, By Working 4 Hours A Week, On A Job That Only Pays Minimum Wage...By Reading This Book"

I like books that help broaden my perspective of myself and others. Here are some great books that have helped me:

Driven To Distraction - first time in my life that I felt like someone was in my head and understood me

Happier - really helped me see that the journey is more important than the destination and helped me in my recovery from perfectionism

Healing The Shame That Binds You - reading this currently. Wow, very eye opening and really helps us to see where this cultural and parental shame gets in our way and holds us all back.

Boundaries - we all need them and most of us have them mixed up.

I'll add more once I check my audio list. I listen to all of my books.

I would feel worse for them than I would for myself.

Another good book was Necessary Endings, which would be great for many here looking to transition into marketing or another business in general. Just like pruning a rose bush, you have to make cuts and prune things back in order to keep a healthy life that grows.

    Hi,

I'm reading "The 4-Hour Work Week, Escape 9-5, Live Anywhere, Join the New Rich" by Tim Ferris. It's kind of a business/self-help book. Focuses on LD = Lifestyle Design.
