I am a Captain & Diet man, always with a lime. If I can't have that, I'll settle for a Corona. Having said that, I got most of my drinking done in my 20's, stayed dry through my 30's, and figured out the moderation thing in my 40's. I only indulge 3 or 4 times a year now, one or two drinks max.

In between, it is a Diet Dr Pepper in arm's reach.

Oh, and every morning it is a pot of Earl Grey sweetened with stevia. Yum.

ice water, ice tea, milk, chocolate milk, milk shakes, various juices, various smoothies, protein shakes, root beer, cream soda, orange julius...I love cold drinks and will easily have two or more off this list daily. As a matter of fact, just finishing a home made orange julius as I type...

Alaister,

Laphroaig is a favorite with some of my friends, but the peat is way too strong for my tastes. It overpowers the rest of the flavors. John Taylor informs me that a single drop of water in the glass opens those up more, but I haven't tried that. I don't often buy a second bottle of something I didn't enjoy the first time.

Glenlivet is the perfect mix for me on that side of the single malt aisle.

Glenmorangie might surprise you. I have some friends who hated Glenlivet, Johnny Walker Blue, Talisker, Famous Grouse, and even Ballantyne's. They all liked Glenmorangie.

Yeh I love the fact it's so peaty.

Glenlivet is great. One of my old man's favorites. I like Glenmorangie on a summer night. It leaves a fresh citrus taste for me.

Treats: Meursault, Saint-Estèphe.

I'll almost always drink wine with a main meal, but hardly ever touch spirits these days (other than a very rare, postprandial single malt).

My father would agree with all Paul's whisky comments: he likes Glenmorangie and says that when you open a bottle of Laphroaig, there's a real smell of peat "drifting off the moors".

That is funny you say Milk Walkingcarpet. Just the other day I took the girlfriend out and we ordered dessert. I had this magnificent chocolate fudge brownie cake and what did I order? MILK , my girlfriend laughed at me. I thought it was funny , no one thinks to order milk at a restaurant.

One of my favorite's is diet ginger ale cranberry soda with a twist of lime. I'm also drinking a lot more water - a gallon+ a day.

While I talk a lot about Asti - I drink very infrequently.

My favorite beverage is the water from Ingman Springs - it's a pure mountain springs not far from me. The water is incredible. Haven't tasted any so sweet and pure in decades. It tastes almost like melted snow.

My new recent beverage addiction is a Moscow Mule served in a real copper cup. I purchased some copper mugs on Amazon after reading a ton of reviews and my friends and I made our first batch last weekend. They came out great!!!

I can't stand cheap tequila but I love the finer stuff. Don Julio 1942 is my favorite.

As Paul would say, my favorite unleaded beverages are: coconut water, home-sqeezed orange juice, and vegetable smoothies.

Dan, you gotta get the copper mugs. They make such a huge difference in the flavor and the taste.

Tip: do not buy the cups that retailers like Bevmo sell because they have a layer of nickel on the inside. Make sure you get the ones that are at least mostly copper.

Oh, I don't make them at home...yet. You have to have the mugs because they truly do alter the flavor (for the better). I only drink them when I'm at an establishment that serves them.

Make sure you keep your seasoned ice and have the server refreeze your mug occassionally.

A good mule is hard to beat. They do go down a little too easily at times though & the power of the kick is often most noticeable the next morning if you're not careful.

I have to ask because ... um, my wife broke Google.

As for me, favorite alcoholic drinks: Miller Lite, Miller Genuine Draft, Cinnamon Schnapps with Coke, Ouzo with Coke, and I had some wine when I was in Spain that was called Frias or Floris or something like that. Best wine I've ever have. I prefer the beer in a frosted mug.

  They taste fantastic. At the end of the day, the copper mug only adds a slight taste. The mug does seem to keep the drink colder, making the drink seem more refreshing.

  I'm thinking my favorite beverage should be V-8 because my son is always putting his hand on my forehead and saying, "Thunk! Mama, you should have had a V-8!", whenever I say, "Umm, I don't get it."
  
  But it's not, lol! I love spring water, coffee, and Mango Lemonade.
