126 for me. Pretty much the same as it's been since grammar school.

Cool. 130 for me. But the test allowed me to take advantage of my only real strength. Pattern recognition and logic. So I think in an extensive test, my score would be a little lower.

I got a 128, but pattern recognition is definitely not one of my strengths and neither is depth perception. In all fairness, I just got a prescription for glasses, too, and they're not here yet. Got my eyes dilated and all that good stuff on Monday.

I'm not sure how I'd do on a more extensive test. I'd like to believe I could hold my own as long as it were evenly balanced in different areas. I'm sure most people are like that.

I think that's a smart way to do it. The test may be rigged to never give a score under 100.

Pretty sure it depends on the specific test. If you look at the pic someone posted below, their 132 score was in the top 2 percent.

I went back and changed the ones I though were wrong the first time around and got 124, two points lower than my first score.

I'm not really up on IQ testing and the types of tests available. I know I don't do well with logic and mathematics though that tends to change with word problems. Usually my feelings are more important in figuring out stuff than my analytic skills. One thing I have noticed, any IQ test I've taken in my life, regardless of what specific skill or talent they were trying to identify, I've always scored in the mid 120s.

Not to be a party pooper...ok, maybe that's what I am...but these free tests don't mean anything. Here's a guy who tested some. Interesting what he found:

Online IQ tests: are they valid? | Dean Burnett | Science | theguardian.com

2 things stood out in his article:

At this point it would probably be informative to reveal my techniques for getting such high scores. Basically, all the tests used multiple choice questions, and I answered each one entirely at random. The whole thing took me less than half an hour. While it is technically possible that I regularly chose the correct answers due to chance alone (one issue with using MCQs in IQ tests), the odds against this are incredibly high. The results provided by one test give us something of a clue as to what’s going on
I did this one randomly and scored a 124. Lucky?

There may well be valid online IQ tests, but tread carefully if you’re using them. And be wary of anyone who publicly shows off about their scores on such tests. An intelligent person would do no such thing.
LOL - love that last line.

You're all smart people. Surprise, surprise. I didn't need a test to tell me that. Good thing, too -- the test, is bogus, LOL. If you randomly answer those questions, you'll likely still get a high test score. I don't think someone would get a high test score by randomly answering a real IQ test. Flattery helps sales. Again, I already know you're smart people and don't need an unreliable online test to tell me that.

hardly a valid IQ test when these questions were so easy compared to the Mensian entry... Definitely off, mine was last tested at 148 at a valid test. IQ scores are redundant lol, any higher doesn't translate to any real world success :p

Yes, this is right ... these tests' scoring sensitivities all vary, significantly, according to the purpose for which they're designed. The "mass consumption" ones are designed to be most accurate in the 92-108 range (that's half a "standard deviation" on either side of the so-called global norm) and get increasingly less accurate the further away from 100 points the score they're reporting.

The Mensa entrance one is very different: it's designed around a "norm" of about 136, I think, and from memory I think about 148 is the Mensa-entry "pass" (that's 3 standard deviations above the norm on a "global test").

Warriors posting their results in the Off Topic forum here are clearly a highly self-selected subgroup of a subgroup, and "our average" results are going to be way higher than 100.

The tests are also pretty culturally and educationally biased, even though they often purport not to be: people with "Western education" tend to score significantly higher on them.

(I haven't looked at this one, and am in any case not intelligent enough to know how to paste a screenshot into the forum because I'm technophobic and incompetent, too ).

It is fair to say that anyone who scores high on such tests is smart, but also fair to say that there are many things that involve cognition that the tests don't measure (eg ability at such things as music and sports). I used to have an opinion on IQ tests, then realized I don't really know squat about them, how they come up with their questions, the basis for designing them the way they do, etc, I think some people's abilities may not get triggered by tests, but emerge with the best "test" of all -- life itself. Among professions as a whole, musicians tended to score lowest on IQ tests while accountants scored among the highest; I suspect that would at least partially reflect the value they place on the test to begin with.

Holy moly. I just saw your artwork. Amazing.

I've got 134. You have all guessed right. I am positive this is the max score.

Not sure if the time matters. I tried to answer pretty fast. Could have gone a few seconds faster but had to look up what the word 'twig' means. My logic guess was 'a small branch' and I was right.
I now know 42,771 English words.

    I scored 130

Personally, I don't like their room for interpretation because there are multiple intelligences and the ones being tested are mostly based on logical-mathematical skills as well as visual thinking.

Thanks for sharing the test. It was fun to take up an English version

I got a 132. Can I get extra credit for noticing that jewelry was spelled two different ways on one of the questions and answers? Hoping that will bump me to a perfect score.
