Went out of their way to help you out? Give them the credit they deserve!
#time
  • In the Internet marketing world, not everyone is helpful and supportive, and there will always be people who will make sure to put you down.

However, when I find somebody willing to help me out, I make sure to remember that person and give them credit where they deserve it.

Thanks for your answer! This is the TRUE about IM.
Every day i see here on this forum a lot of bad advice given just to pull someone back and make them give up.
No one is willing to help for real and we can understand the reasons.

Honestly, I can not recall anyone helping me with anything online, I had to learn and pay for everything.

Someone here, called JayXtreme (who has not posted here since the end of 2011), helped me quite a bit, when I started out in internet marketing. He joined this forum only a few months before me but already had years of experience. I knew him slightly from another forum, about another subject, where we'd both posted a little in 2008. He made a lot of reliable and informative posts here, and somehow I knew I could trust him. He also answered some questions for me, by private message (and even gave me some ebooks he'd written and wouldn't take any money for them). He helped me to understand some of the fundamental things I needed to know, when I was floundering and earning nothing, and specifically he helped me to understand that much of what was then posted here about SEO was pure nonsense, and I've always been grateful to him.

    Willie Crawford.

He invited me to my first live IM event.

It was huge for me at the time to make that happen
but it was a transformative experience.

At that event, in Destin, Florida, I met Carl Galletti
who happened to live in the same town I did -
Sedona, AZ. Carl and I had lunch together every
Thursday for 5 years - I learned a lot from him.

    But Willie was the catalyst.

    One more?

I've been a member here since 2002 so it's really not
fair to single out one or two people. Many of you have
no idea the people who used to be daily regulars here.

Directly or indirectly, as friends and as grudges (yeah,
you want to bring out your best put that chip on your
    shoulder to work).

But get this. My very first Internet marketing product
was a $197 ebook. I wrote that thing and then sat on
    it for six months.

A customer bought. Another bought a week or so
    later. A few more.

Customer number SIX changed things big-time for
me. I asked him later how he found my product and
he didn't recall. I have no clue either.

    That customer? Allen Says!

He loved the book, and promoted it on this forum
when that was a very rare thing. I'd call that really
    helping me out. :-)

You can't count on someone else making the way
for you, but you're also in a place where it only
takes ONE connection to change everything. This
has always been a generous, giving community
and that's what makes it special.

Alexa - any idea what happened to JayXtreme?
    He was hyperactive back when.

Not really ... he might still respond to a private message (if he gets email notification of receiving them?). I think their first baby was due, around then ... and I know he had a couple of other, non-IM businesses to look after as well. Not sure, apart from that.

I always like to say thank you at the end of a message or email when someone is helpful. Even over the phone to customer service. A thank you goes a long way. I hope to meet thankful warriors this year and beyond.

Hope everyone is having a good day or night.

I used to ask him questions and he always answered quickly and cheerfully. I always knew he would have the answer, and he always did.

    Thanks, Steve!

I am grateful that some people had helped me in some points of my life, with that I was able to pay it forward also to some people in need. I can't remember their names anymore but I hope they will receive the same kindness they have given.

Heysal helped my wife when she had kidney cancer, and also helped me with my arthritis. Highly doubtful I would have found the info on my own, too much info out there concerning those two subjects.

You, David, were never, and will never be, "out of my way".

Too many people helped me online for me to start listing without accidentally leaving someone out and slighting them.

    Lets go offline a minute............
I was out rock hunting and the road gave way into a sink. It miles to the closest house but I had to do the walk as nothing else was getting me out. When I got to the house, the guy drove back to where I was sunk and pulled my rig out. Saved me a lot of time and money with that kindness.

Many moons ago, I signed up for a newsletter about HTML by this zany SOB named Boogie Jack. The information he provided...for free...was exactly what I needed when I needed it.

BJ, by way, is our very own Dennis Gaskill.

Later, I was posting here about my initial difficulties with Wordpress. Craig Desorcy was nice enough to send me a free copy of his book on the subject. It was all the WP training I've ever needed.

Claude Whitacre gives me an outlet to be unbelievably cruel and sarcastic. It's probably saved my marriage...

ThomM and Heysal, indirectly through their posts, have gotten me and the ol' ball and chain on the organic, non-GMO bandwagon. I'm even considering taking up his apple cider vinegar elixir, but have yet to find the cojones.

Yesterday some lady took me to find me a house to rent at her own expense. Went searching for several houses all in the heat of the midday sun.
