Okay guys I apologize I just couldn't wait any longer for someone to start this. So I did!

( So sorry for the premature speculation )

But the Season officially starts next month.

And Hope I am not being presumptuous in starting this Thread.

Because, I don't know maybe there is a certain protocol where someone "higher" than me here at Warrior has to start an "Official" Thread like this ?

If so you can delete this thread and do it the way you want to do it.

Otherwise, lets GET IT ON GUYS

I am picking the Spurs. Big surprise right

Without the big three at Miami it will be easier for them this year BUT it will NOT be easy whatsoever.

I repeat ( before you guys ambush me lol) it will NOT be easy whatsoever

The Western Conference is stacked.

Warriors, Trail blazers, Clippers, Thunder are ALL legit contenders.

Will this year be the year Durant breaks through to a Championship ?

Also Koby thinks he has a chance with Lin and Hill. And quoted that he and the Lakers will "shock" some people this year.

Laker nation opens up at Dwight and Rockets on Oct. 28. It will be interesting to see how Koby reacts towards Howard and especially Lin versus the whole Rockets

Crazy mentality to think that he has a chance to make a Run ??? When you have 5 titles and you play for the Lakers I would argue NO !
But still unlikely.

Cavs are going to be at least 2 years out before they make it to Eastern Conference Championship, IMO

It is going to be fun

Sorry Robert, my full attention is devoted to Football until end of Jan next year...

I do agree with most of what you've said, even a 100% Koby has no chance with Lin and Hill...

Nothing to do with this upcoming season but just curious to why some see this as the best dunk in NBA history ?

I think it is impressive as he seems to be suspended in mid air longer than he should have. Kind of an optical illusion, I don't know.

I'm looking at it again and maybe his knee catapulted off Jackson's upper chest area to get him higher towards the time he should have been coming down.

But the best dunk ever , though ?

You all Cavs seem to have a real good 1st year Coach.

Read an Article about him in SI few weeks ago.

He is a journeyman who has a tremendous amount of international experience.

Just reading the Article is was pretty in depth and he looks to have a truly gifted and brilliant basketball Mind.

He was well overdue for an NBA head coach position

Since Paul George is hurt for the season, I don't see a problem with the Cavs coming out of the east this season.

    BTW...

Why don't you keep my Lakers out of your mouth? LOL!

The main goal of a franchise is to grow it's equity and to win championships.

The last time I looked we're beating the pants off you guys in both categories.

But in all fairness, you guys royally served the Heat last season and props are due but Pop won't be around forever and he title you have a good chance of winning this upcoming season will be your last in a very long time.

But this is a long, long war and you will...

Cease and desist in your petty vendetta against the Lakers or I will be forced to continually harp on your lack of titles when compared to ours.

    Sincerely,

      Hey TL,
I was wondering when you might make your presence
But in my defense I did say that Koby and Lakers are NOT crazy for thinking that they are going to shock some people.

Like I said if anyone can he can.

Of course the Lakers will be back. Just a matter of time.

As far as this Season last time for awhile for the Spurs ?

I don't know think so. Leonard is already superstar status and will just keep getting better as well as Splitter and Greene who will keep getting better too. If we can hold on to Mills he will be NBA All Star shortly and the Future looks good.

Anyway, glad to see you back

Agreed and easily. Indy lost their second best player in Stephenson. They are really going to struggle this year.

I think Chicago is the main competition in the East although a couple of the teams should improve quite a bit. I've been watching the FIBA World cup and Derrick Rose looks pretty good. He doesn't seem to be completely back offensively, but his defense is going to make Chicago really tough in the East. If he can stay healthy I think they can beat the Cavs.

Yeah Bill, Wash is one of those I think should improve a lot. Another is New Orleans who have Anthony Davis ( who may be the most important player on the USA FIBA team ), Omer Asik, Ryan Anderson, Jrue Holiday, Tyreke Evans, Eric Gordon ...They will be greatly improved this year.

Saw talk recently about Spurs pondering over final spot on their Roster.

Some are whispering Ray Allen's name.

Mixd feelings here. I cant stand the guy the last couple of years with the Heat.

But he definitely could be an asset in the rotation. Mills will be gone half of season.

      So it could work out.

Thats wierd though, Ray Allen a Spur

If the Cavs stay healthy I'll pick them to beat the Bulls in the Eastern Conference Finals.

And if the Spurs can stay healthy, I wouldn't be a bit surprised to see them repeat and then Duncan & Ginobli ride off into the sunset.

I am a homer and bias for sure, but to say the Cavs are two years away from reaching the finals, is wishful thinking. I've seen Lebron take a team full of bench players to the finals

I think the Cavs will be in the Finals this year for sure, and may even win it all. The only thing that worries me about the Cavs, is staying healthy.

As far as the spurs go, I don't see them coming out the West this year. They are to old, and you have to wonder if Manu and Parker can stay healthy.

Damn Bill, that is a true fan to stick it out with a team like the Cavs for that long.

Not sure where you heard this from, but Cleveland has the best fans on the planet. Cleveland is the second poorest city in the country, yet they still manage to support the top 3 major sports. Some of the biggest cities in the world couldn't even support one major team, let alone three. Cleveland is a poor city, but with a big heart.

I don't bet but I am feeling very good about our chances. To brush off a team of K-Love, LBJ, Kyrie, Marion, Waiters, Thompson, Miller, Andy as a team lucky to get out of the East, is pure denial

It's unfortunate that I don't bet, because that is a suckers bet my ass. I would have loved to have made a bet before LBJ came back and the odds were 90-1

I have no problem with that, I really like our chances this year, and if they do win it this year then people will say "OH THEY HAD TO STACK THE ROSTER TO DO IT"

Sometimes Superstars end off doing worse than better.

I am not saying it will happen with Cavs.

But Love and Lebron are Superstars and sometimes the Chemistry just does not workout.

It is more than having Superstars on your Team.

Honestly, not one person on the Spurs at least consider themselves Superstars.

And the fact is Parker and Ginobili have twice as many NBA Championships as LBJ.

          Duncan has 2.5 as many.

It ALL based on chemistry not superstars.

I agree, but the x factor is Lebron. He makes every around him better. Just having LBJ and K-Love on the roster allows them to open up the floor for everyone else. Had it been K-Love, Kyrie and another star it would be different, but when you open up the floor for Lebron, great things happen. No more double and triple teaming.

Good point. It will be interesting.

Honestly, just glad LBJ is not with Heat.

Saw where Calipari is having an NBA Combine of sorts which he invited 30 NBA Scouts toofficially come in October to see all the NBA talent he has at UK.

He mainly uses this for his own recruiting purposes to get high school phenoms to watch and then commit.

Pretty smart tactic but is this good way to approach College Athletics ??

I've been watching...Faried wasn't sure he'd even make the team. Then he became a starter. And in the games I've watched, you could make a good case that he's been the MVP for Team USA.

He can get you 15-17 points without running a single play his way, just from hustle.
        .
And he's a really good guy. He's my favorite NBA player.

He is one of the leading candidates for MVP of the whole tournament. I would bet he will get it in fact. He's playing great! He has some very unique abilities. His quickness and relentlessness is what sets him apart I think. It's hustle but something more than that. My girlfriend says he reminds her of Rodman and I agree, although they have different games. Farried is a better offensive player and will likely improve on that end. I keep thinking to myself "I would love to have him on the Warriors." lol

Another player who has played well all tournament is Klay Thompson. I am so happy the Warriors didn't trade him for Love.

A little trivia...did you know Faried is the NCAA's all time career rebounding leader?

I've said this before, but Manimal is maybe the fastest jumper I've ever seen. He gets off the floor so quickly.

Now, let's hope Nuggets coach Brian Shaw figures out how to use Faried correctly. I'm tired of hearing all the trade talks about Faried. If it was up to me, I'd trade Shaw to the Zen Master and keep Faried if I had to pick between the two.

I had heard that piece of trivia before Kurt, but if someone had asked me I probably wouldn't have recalled. Now I think I will remember. I can't believe the Nuggets would even consider trading Faried! Are you serious? This guy should be the franchise player to build around.

The 13th annual NBA GM ( general managers ) survey just came out and my Warriors are the most fun to watch! Not surprising to me because they really are very entertaining and highly competitive. I was a bit surprised at the % of GM's who said so though.

                  1) Warriors -- 57.1 percent
                  2) Clippers -- 21.4 percent
                  3) Spurs -- 17.9 percent
                  4) Thunder -- 3.6 percent

Other results from the NBA 30 GM survey:

Which team will win the 2015 NBA Finals?
                  1. San Antonio -- 46.2%
                  2. Cleveland -- 15.4%
                  3. Chicago -- 11.5%
                  L.A. Clippers -- 11.5%
                  Oklahoma City -- 11.5%
                  6. Golden State -- 3.8%
                  Last year: Miami -- 75.9%

Which team will win the Eastern Conference finals?
                  1. Cleveland -- 70.4%
                  2. Chicago -- 25.9%
                  3. Washington -- 3.7%
                  Last year: Miami -- 86.2%

                  I'm picking Chicago

Which team will win the Western Conference finals?
                  1. San Antonio -- 55.6%
                  2. Oklahoma City -- 29.6%
                  3. L.A. Clippers -- 11.1%
                  4. Golden State -- 3.7%
Last year: San Antonio -- 40.0%

OKC is going to have a tough time without Durant. I can't see them winning like they did when Westbrook was out last year. Warriors are better than the Clippers.

                  1. Anthony Davis, New Orleans -- 29.6%
                  2. Bradley Beal, Washington -- 14.8%
                  3. Andre Drummond, Detroit -- 11.1%
Klay Thompson, Golden State -- 11.1%
                  5. Kenneth Faried, Denver -- 7.4%

I agree with all of these, but think Klay will have the biggest jump.

Who is the best point guard in the NBA?

                  1. Chris Paul, L.A. Clippers -- 71.4%
                  2. Russell Westbrook, Oklahoma City -- 10.7%
                  3. Tony Parker, San Antonio -- 7.1%

I couldn't put Paul over Parker simply because Paul hasn't taken any of his teams to even the Conference finals in his career. I also think Curry is right up there with Paul, or at least will be this year.

                  1. James Harden, Houston -- 63.0%
                  2. Klay Thompson, Golden State -- 18.5%
                  3. Kobe Bryant, L.A. Lakers -- 7.4%
Stephen Curry, Golden State -- 7.4%

I would have to agree right now but Klay should catch up and surpass Harden this year. Thompson is a way better defensive player and Harden is better offensively now.

Who is the best power forward in the NBA?
                  1. LaMarcus Aldridge, Portland -- 25.0%
                  Blake Griffin, L.A. Clippers -- 25.0%
                  3. Anthony Davis, New Orleans -- 21.4%

Kevin Love is at only 7%. Interesting. I would have thought he would have been higher.

Who is the best perimeter defender in the NBA?
                  1. LeBron James, Cleveland -- 25.0%
                  2. Kawhi Leonard, San Antonio -- 21.4%
                  3. Tony Allen, Memphis -- 17.9%
                  4. Jimmy Butler, Chicago -- 7.1%
Andre Iguodala, Golden State -- 7.1%
                  Chris Paul, L.A. Clippers -- 7.1%
Klay Thompson, Golden State -- 7.1%

The warriors have two of the top 7 perimeter defenders according to the GMs. Hey, we play tough D now.

Which head coach runs the best offense?
                  1. Gregg Popovich, San Antonio -- 77.8%
                  2. Rick Carlisle, Dallas -- 11.1%

Which head coach has the best defensive schemes?
                  1. Tom Thibodeau, Chicago -- 92.9%
                  2. Gregg Popovich, San Antonio -- 7.1%

Who is the best assistant coach in the NBA?
                  1. Alvin Gentry, Golden State -- 17.9%
                  2. Adrian Griffin, Chicago -- 7.1%

Which player is the best pure shooter?
                  1. Stephen Curry, Golden State -- 60.7%
                  2. Kyle Korver, Atlanta -- 28.6%

                  Yep.

Which player would you want taking a shot with the game on the line?
                  1. Kevin Durant, Oklahoma City -- 76.9%
                  2. Kobe Bryant, L.A. Lakers -- 7.7%
                  LeBron James, Cleveland -- 7.7%

Have to agree with this, but I find the percentage surprising.

Watch out for the "Balkan Bear", Nuggets first first round pick Jusuf Nurkic. He's 7 ft, 300 pounds, very strong and was an impressive rebounder in pre season...he looks like the real deal. It's interesting that he says he feels small compared to his dad, who is 7'4", weighs 450 and is a cop.

We are very deep. I'd put our second string up against any backups in the NBA. But we are missing a true "go to" player and I'm not fond of coach Brian Shaw. He needs to prove to me this year he's a better coach than George Karl was. I don't think he will.

And bad news for the Lakers, losing Randall to a broken leg in the first game of the season. I hate seeing injuries, even to TL's Lakers.

Mee too. I like Randal and think he will be a star.

Funny, even before seeing that injury I found myself rooting for the Lakers! I never do that, but I'm not much of a fan of the Rockets either these days.

The Spurs/Maverics game was a good one. Two very well coached teams with a lot of talent.

          Let's not get carried away...

Did anyone read Josh Smith's comments about Kenneth Faried?

"I don't respond to nobody with dreadlocks who plays basketball," Smith said. "He's a clown, quote me on that."
A couple of things..First, he DID respond to Faried with his comment saying he doesn't respond and calling Faried a clown.

Next, Josh Smith took 22 shots to get 25 points (10 of 22). Faried took 12 shots ( 8 of 12) to score 22 points. Plus, Faried had 17 rebounds. All despite missing most of the 3rd with foul trouble.

BTW, The Balkin Bear had 7 boards in 13 minutes. This is exactly what he did in preseason, averaging a rebound every two minutes. I know it's very early, but so far I really like this kid.

Smith sounds as ignorant as hell. At least Faried knows he isn't a three point shooter. Smith has averaged 1.6 3PA per game on 28% efficiency throughout his career. As Barkley would say "Just turrible".

By the way, my Warriors take on the once mighty Lakers tonight, who actually played the Clippers pretty tough last night.

On another note, fivethirtyeight, the website of Nate Silver, ranks the Warriors as the statistical favorite to win the Championship among the Western Conference teams.

Kerr also inherits a defense that finished fourth in the league in defensive efficiency last season. Golden State’s defensive prowess, built on holding opponents to 46 percent shooting from inside the arc, the third-best mark in the league, was masked by its frenetic pace. The Warriors were sixth in the league in tempo last season, which meant that they actually gave up only the 10th-fewest points per game.

Looks like OKC took another hit with Westbrook breaking his hand. The good news for them is they should get both Westbook and Durant back in mid season. They'll probably lose some seating positions for the playoffs, but should be OK by then.

They played the Clippers pretty tough last night even after Westbrook was injured. Says something about their depth and coaching I think. Plus, it says something about the Clippers, who didn't play well in the preseason and seem to still be struggling.

How do you stop a player like Harden, James and Curry who will attack your defense? Attack them. All three are among the top in the league in turnovers. Attack them before they attack you. Harden broke the record for turnovers in a playoff game tonight.

Of course you need the defense to attack that elite player. The Warriors have the number one defense this year and the players who have the ability to cover Harden as much as possible and cause turnovers. Now, let's see if they can do the same to Lebron. At least for a couple games. You can't stop him every game that's for sure.

I'm flabbergasted that the Warriors have the number one defense in the NBA to go along with that explosive offense.

I don't see how Cleveland can beat them in a 7 game series, so my pick is your boys in 6 - congrats!

Look Tim, I was sucking up as best I could in hopes of getting the curse removed but I should have known that you are not so easily fooled by anyone's (especially a formerly overly arrogant Laker Fan) political posturing.

But then again, I don't see how you could lift the curse without endangering your own prospects, so I guess I sucked up for naught -drats!

But you really do have a great team and I looks like I'm going to have to respectfully bend a knee as long as you reign supreme in The Land of The NBA.

And I guess I'm glad you hail from the same division as I.

              Enjoy!

The Cavs sure don't look like contenders yet. Portland killed them last night, limiting Lebron to just 11 points total and none in the 2nd half. Kyrie Erving shot just 3 for 17. Their defense is not very impressive either.

Houston is looking pretty good so far but some tougher games coming up for them including my Warriors later this week. Warriors play the Clips tonight. Can't wait for that one.

The Cavs have a ways to go.

And Tim that will be a good one tonight. We will see how much the Warriors are made of this year. Some are picking the Clippers to win the Western Conference

I think Kerr should be a good Coach.

The Warriors are a little bit of an anomaly.Last season with Curry and Thompson they had incredible three point shooting ...and it gave the impression of a real high powered offensive attack.

No disrespect , but in actuality they were closer to average among the Elite teams as they ranked 12th in points per possession.

It really was the Warrior's 3rd ranked defense last year that got them those 50+ wins.

So you get those two things balanced out and they could be unstoppable, really.

Spurs face Hawks in tonight's game. Splitter makes season debut. A very long 4 day break at beginning of Season.

Yeah, one of the reasons Mark Jackson is gone is because many fans and pundits thought the Warriors underperformed offensively. He ran a lot of ISOs that drove us nutts. This years offense looks a lot better already even though they are just getting used to it.

My Warriors beat the Clippers easily. Very easily! Loved it. These teams really don't like each other. Before the game Griffin didn't want to shake any Warriors' hands. During the game, after the Dubs got a huge lead, Bogut was trash talking in Griffin's face. And then there was this:

Looks like there is trouble in paradise, with my Cavs. I think they will end up trading Dion Waiters, hopefully they get a rim protector in return.

I think Mr. Griffin is worried about protecting his commercial appeal more than being soft. If he co-cocks someone like Kareem used to do his non-Clipper income may go away.

He doesn't have to co-cock him, all he has to do is shove him out the way, instead of pretending he didn't see him

I love Dray, but if he did that to me and I was Griffin, I think I might just lift my arm to get him out of my face and accidentally hit the bottom of his jaw so he takes a good bite of his tongue. Griffin is soft though. Hard Core? Not so much.

Ready to watch Spurs vs Rockets now. Should be a good one!

If that dude wants to stick his tongue out like an idiot then god bless him but I wouldn't take the chance of messing up my endorsement money over that crap.

I have a feeling that sooner or later he will be forced into a real scrape with another player who's not a star - like that dude sticking out his tongue.

Having said all that, are the Warriors that upset because he didn't want to touch them before the game started?

                    Anything going on there?

I believe the same thing happened in a recent Maryland/Penn State college football game where the captains of one team didn't want to shake hands during the coin toss.

Don't mind me, I'm just upset my Lakers suck this year and will probably suck for at least a few more years to come. Oh how the mighty have fallen.

Draymond Green isn't a household name yet but he just may be an all star this year. Kerr calls him the heartbeat of the Warriors and if the Warriors have the best record going into the All Star game Kerr just might name him to the team. It would be well deserved if he does. Green is a unique talent and someone any team in the NBA would want.

Highlights from last nights triple double game for Draymond:

Another night, another impressive win for my Warriors, easily defeating a Durant/Westbrook led team by over 20.They are playing some terrific bb. I don't think the stats really show how well they have played because most of their games are lopsided wins, which is way different from last year when we had so many close games.

Here are some stats though, that do show their dominance right now: #1 in point differential per game at 10.7. Dallas is 2nd at 7.6 and no other team is about 7. #1 in offensive fg %. #1 in opponent fg%. #1 in differential in fg % at 6.5% ( no other team is above 3%! )

I know it's still early, but it seems they are only improving under the coaching of Kerr and his assistants. I liked Mark Jackson, but wow, what a good decision to get Kerr. Plus, not trading Thompson for Kevin Love was very smart.

Here's a short video of highlights of Curry from last night. He is having an MVP caliber year imo.

Lol. Funny. I think it's becuse he feels the Spurs are a threat to catch up to his beloved Lakers in number of Championships.

OK, there are other teams playing really well. How about the Hawks. They have a long time Spurs assistant Budenholzer doing wonders with that team. They are legit. So is Toronto. Chicago is playing great ball now. Washington is very tough. The East doesn't have as many quality teams as the West, but those four teams are top notch. In the West, Portland is playing great ball, as is Dallas.

Oh, and it's interesting how the Pistons win six in a row after releasing Josh Smith, and then the Rockets lose 4 of 7 since he was signed.

Yeah, that Pistons game last night was a heart breaker. Spurs leading by 1 point with the ball and a few seconds left. Pistons steal it and score a bucket with no time left . Crazy.

Roy Tarpley, former star with Dallas back in the late 80s to early 90s dies at 50. He was one of the most talented players who never reached their potential because of drug problems, being banned for the NBA for life at an early age. He could have been a hall of famer with the talent he had. Another player that comes to mind who had similar problems was Michael Ray Richardson, who played with the Warriors for one year. RIP.

Roy Tarpley was a great, but tragic player. Dying at 50 makes it even more tragic. If a player isn't caught cheating, I've never understood why they get booted out of the league for a substance problem, taking away their only real support system. There has to be a better way.

BTW, Michael Ray is a Denver kid...He went to the high school closest to my own high school and was from the same neighborhood. Last I heard he was doing pretty well and was an assistant college bball coach somewhere.

                            Tim's right.

The Spurs are more of a long term threat to my Lakers than the Warriors and since Tim's also a pretty cool guy and they're in the same division, I wish his Warriors all the best - especially since my Lakers may be null and void for at least a few more years.

Even people in supermarkets were looking at me in my Lakers tee shirts and then smiling at me as if they know something I don't know.

One guy (who I don't even know) gave me the Edward G. Robinson line from the Ten Commandments...

"Laker fan? Where's your God now Laker fan?"

And had a very good laugh on me.

I was flabbergasted and all I could do was to reply with a weak movie line of my own...

                            "We'll be back."

But you and your upstart Spurs - that's another matter. I have heard on good authority, that devious and diabolical plans are being made to stop your franchise right in its tracks.

Congrats on another championship but sorry I can't wish you many, many more.

Last year we were really injured, so I gave Shaw a bit of a pass. This year we are probably deeper and more talented than the team the won 57 games under George Karl the year before last.

I don't think Brian Shaw is a very good coach. He has said he can coach any style of player or philosophy, but I think that really means that he can't coach any of them well. This is a team that needs to run and be uptempo. Shaw simply doesn't insist that they push the ball.

Last year, the local beat writer said, that during a losing streak, Shaw would yell and berate players in the locker room. I just don't respect that kind of coaching. I doubt Coach K or John Wooden did a lot of berating players.

Karl knew what he was doing with that team. I guess the main thing with him was they didn't get far in the playoffs? Well, at least they got to the playoffs and got that experience. Firing him was just a bonehead move. He gets coach of the year and then gets fired, now the team is struggling. SMH.

I can't wait for the Warriors to play Houston on Saturday! I am expecting a nice win.

The Spurs are not playing well and Houston is playing pretty good. I wouldn't worry about the Spurs though. I do wonder if Pops would continue to rest his older guys if the team is around .500 after 20 games or so.

It goes back a couple years. Last Xmas they had a fight where a couple guys got Ts and I think it was Draymond Green who got thrown out along with Griffin. Heck, they have even gotten into it after games, outside the locker room.

This is a big pet peeve of mine in sports. I call it the "Marty Syndrome". Marty Shottenheimer has been fired from a few jobs because he "can't win the big one". But how's that worked out for the teams that fired him, other than maybe San Diego? How have the Browns or Chiefs done since? KC hasn't won a playoff game since 1993. Marty even led Washington to an 8-8 record, where other coaches like Shanahan, Joe Gibbs and Spurrier haven't come close to .500 with Washington.

Karl's teams only won one playoff series in 9 straight playoff appearances. But at least we made the playoffs 9 straight years with Karl. This string was snapped last year, the first year after Karl was fired.

If you're going to fire Karl, you better have John Wooden's ghost under contract to replace him.

Yeah, Don Nelson had that rap also. However, both Nelson and Karl knew how to get the best out of the players they had, that to me is a big part of being a great coach. Neither won a Championship but you can't tell me that if either had the teams that Phil Jackson or Pat Riley had they wouldn't have done just as well, if not better.

Speaking of Nelson, he doesn't seem to get the credit for being an innovative coach. For some reason, he and a few other coaches, including Denver's Doug Moe, are over looked and instead Mike D'Antoni gets all the credit for an uptempo style offense. It drives me nutts whenever I hear an announcer say D'Antoni revolutionized the NBA.

Doug Moe had the same rep. Dan Issle was an good center, but he wasn't Kareem. Fat Lever was an excellent point guard, but he wasn't Magic. How does any coach overcome that?

Doug Moe was an excellent coach and my favorite Denver coach of all time for any sport. He had the perfect personality for being a coach. He'd bench a player for poor play, but his "doghouse" lasted only until the end of the game. After the game, he'd be seen with that player having a beer and the next game it was like nothing ever happened.

His Nuggets teams had a bad rap for not playing defense, but this really wasn't true. The Nuggest problem back then was rebounding. TR Dunn and Bill Hanzlick could play defense with the best of them.

After Moe was fired, the Nuggest were horrible for about a decade, and to be honest, I lost quite a bit of interest during that span. I hope it doesn't happen again. It's hard to root for a team that losing a lot over a long period of time.

PS...About Phil. It's a lot easier to win when you have the best player and/or the best two players in the NBA. He does deserve credit for winning with those players, but having MJ, Shaq and Kobe probably helps just a little. Same for Reilly. I could win a few games as a coach with Kareem and Magic on my team.

Agreed. I used to say the same thing when Magic and Kareem were playing. Heck, I think we both could have won a Championship with those teams, Kurt. The thing about Phil, is he never coached a team that was rebuilding. He won't do it now with the Knicks either. That would make a serious dent in his record and stature as the "greatest coach ever" ( not my title for him ).

Having said all that, are the Warriors that upset because he didn't want to touch them before the game started?

Phil's never coached a team without the best player in the league on it. He's the ultimate cherry-picking coach.

Have you noticed that he doesn't have much of a coaching tree? He has Brian Shaw and now Kerr and Fisher. Kerr will do well, but not so sure about the other two.

Yeah, and Kerr learned under Popovich also. Popovich has a much bigger tree.

I watched the Denver/Cavs game and was thinking about the Nuggets' coaching. One thing I don't get is why Farried only played 22 minutes and scored just 8 points with 7 rebounds? Is he hurt Kurt? If not, I just don't get why he isn't having a huge year coming off that extremely impressive performance at the FIBA world cup. The Nuggets did make it interesting at the end though.

Faried's healthy. It was a "coach's decision". IMO, Shaw has never known what to do with Faried. I doubt we'll ever confuse Shaw for Coach K.

On a serious note, the Nugs don't need more players. We need to trade two or three of our own for one very good player. We go 3 deep at almost every position and have good players that can't get playing time. We "just" need that one go-to player (and a coach).

I agree, Phil Jackson is a cherry picker, his triangle is a joke IMO. You need ATLEAST two H.O.F's and a bunch of good role players for it to work. Derrick Fisher is proving what I've always known, the triangle offense doesn't win championships, H.O.F's do.

Popovich is the greatest coach of all time IMO, Phil is not even close. To be considered a great coach, you have to be able to coach, not ride coat tails. You could put Joe Neckbone as coach on those championship teams, and he would be in the same convo as Phil. Phil Jackson is the biggest coat tail rider of all time.

Lol. We should have won that damn game too! It's hard to win with 26 turnovers though. That's our achilles heel and I know Kerr is getting very frustrated by it.

Quote of the day last night,

The Nugs are down 84-50 at the half and at home. Giving up 84 points in a half? Down 34 at home at halftime? Seriously?

If this continues much longer, I'm checking out until Brian Shaw is fired. This is ridiculous.

Wow! 84 at the half!? That is hard to believe. A 1-6 record is also! I wonder how long it will take the owners to fire him? Doing that would kind of mean they would have to admit they made a mistake and these owners are real pigheaded aholes sometimes who are not used to ever admitting doing anything wrong. Is Josh Kroenke the main problem here Kurt?

Sorry Tim, I missed this post.

Actually, I like Josh Kroenke. I know his rich dad gave him the team, but he does have a background in basketball and played at Mizzou (I think). He's just a little young and needs more experience. He's also runs the Colorado Avalanche, which his dad also gave him, so I think he's spread a little thin.

But, I believe he really wants to win and will spend the money to do so, which is about all a fan can ask for. He did make a very bad decision firing Karl though, although I think there may be more to the story. But I think most of his decisions have been pretty good.

BTW, the Nuggs are starting to play a lot better...

uuugghhhh. Another place where my Mavs get no love.

Let me tell yall what's gonna happen. Tyson Chandler is back. JJ Barea is back. It's gonna be a repeat of 2011. Only team in the way is the Spurs, and this year, Tim Duncan finally gets too old. Everybody else in the way is just fodder. Especially Cleveland if they make the Finals.

      WTF ?

James had a cold but still a big win for a a team that needs some confidence.

Lawson and Afflalo looked pretty tough.

The Cavs ain't ready for the Spurs. Should be a blowout.

Memphis destroyed Houston tonight and now have the best record in the league.

By the way, the Kings filed a protest over the end of their loss to Memphis. Protests rarely work but this time they seem to have a good case. The ball seems to be deflected when it was inbounded and that would have started the clock and ended the game. We'll have to see if they overturn this win for Memphis.

Well, I was wrong about that one. It was a good game.

So, now the Cavs have lost 4 in a row and are not looking good at all. A big problem is depth. The second team last night started blowing an 18 lead in the second quarter, and they eventually lost by double figures to Toronto.

Toronto is looking really good so far. They have a real solid roster and are well coached. Maybe they will be the team to beat in the East.

Well, my Warriors are playing pretty damn well right now. Their defense is continuing where it left off last season, ranked #1 for opponent's field goal %. Their offense is improving almost every game and their new players are really contributing. Plus, it's hard to say who on the team has improved the most since last season: Curry, Thompson, Barnes, Bogut, Speights or Green. They have had an easy schedule the last two weeks, so we'll see how long they can keep the best record in the league.

Last night's game against the Pelicans was a fun one to watch. Anthony Davis is as good as everyone is saying. He plays like a small guy in a large body and that makes sense because just 4 years ago he was a 6'2" point guard!

Here's a play by Curry I loved. First he steals it. Then behind the back dribble to the same hand, one bounce and then a behind the back pass to Thompson for a three!

Yeah, that was a good win Robert. I was a bit worried about that game because we have had a terrible time in Chicago for many, many years. Curry and Thompson have both had terrible games there the last couple of years.

This team is starting to remind me of your Spurs. Tough D, excellent ball movement, clutch shooting from different players, depth...They find a lot of different ways to win. I'm looking forward to a rematch with you guys.

totally unnecessary behind the back pass but thats why its such a beautiful one. It just shows how much they enjoy playing together and love the game. I normally don't get into Bball till after the all star break but will definitely be watching more of their games.

We'll see Alex. The schedule will be getting tougher the next few weeks and I expect them to have some downturns like every team does, but what gives them a good chance in every game is their consistently tough defense. Bogut is the key on defense and he unfortunately has a history of getting injured.

It's good to see teams that weren't so competitive in the past, at the top. A lot of teams have improved. I never thought I'd see the day, the raptors would be in first place.

I am also. It was fun watching Barkley at the game last night. He hates on the Knicks whenever possible lately. So during the game Phil tweets:

"do I have to mute this game? Chuck just remember your fundamental...key to triangle"

CBS Basketball Analyst Greg Anthony Arrested, Charged With Soliciting Prostitute

    Update:

Discovered via TV news, he was busted in a sting operation by answering an add in Backpage and then going to a room in a downtown D.C. hotel where he was arrested.

Allegedly he was wearing a hoodi as he walked through the hotel lobby and the hotel was a DoubleTree.

Note: The hotel is very close to where Marion Barry was busted.

The all star break is too long now. A full week?

Just read Jerome Kersey died at only 52. He was a terrific player.

Goran Dragic has asked to be traded because he doesn't trust the Suns management. I was wondering why they traded for Isaiah Thomas and apparently Dragic didn't get that move either. Three starting caliber point guards on the same team??

Read a few days ago Anthony Mason had a massive heart attack. He was alive at that time, haven't heard any updates.

BTW Tim...you picked a bad year for your Warriors to be doing well. The rest of our teams are so bad, most of us have lost interest in the season.

The only good news for my Nuggets is we have 3 picks in the draft and Nurkic looks like he can become a real player, see my comments about him in the preseason above. Right now, he looks like he's the only Nugget NOT on the trading block.

Instead of trading the entire team, I think I'd fire "The Shaw of Denver" instead. It was only a year and a half ago this team had 57 wins under George Karl. Not sure why management feels it's the players that are the problem.

Yeah, he was in really bad shape and underwent 4 surgeries back on the 9th or the 10th. I'm a lifelong Knick (insert joke here) fan and was sad to hear the news that Mase was fighting for his life. His high energy, high impact game was fun to watch and appreciated even when he was playing point forward.

His son Anthony Jr. released a statement on Saturday the 14th that stated he was holding his own. He said he is in stable condition and continues to receive expert medical care as he recovers from his medical procedures.

His other son Antoine (6' 1") balls for Auburn... He is averaging 14.9 pts in 29 minutes and he can bang the 3.

                  Cheers

In a way, Sacramento was kind of dumb for hiring Karl now. They should have waited until after the season so they'd have a better chance in the lottery.

But I have little doubt they'll start winning under Karl sooner rather than later.

It pains me to say this, but the Lakers could make a pretty quick turnaround next year.

They pay Dragic big bucks in the off season, who has hinted he wants to play in a big market. Kevin Love gets tired of playing with Lebron and goes home to LA. They get Randle back. Then they get a good pick in the draft. And Kobe comes back and plays in 20-25 games before he gets hurt.

A lot of ifs there, except for that last one.

I just don't think the Lakers have the brain power to turn it around anytime soon. Plus, who wants to play with Kobe? That's a real problem.

Yep, there's a few "ifs". But they will get Randle back and will likely have a high draft pick.

And "if" Dragic wants to play in a big market, we need to rule out Chicago because of Rose. And who would want to play for the Knicks or Nets?

And it isn't that much of a longshot that Kevin Love would like to play in LA.

While getting both Love and Dragic is a longshot, those are far from their only options and getting just one of them would be a big help.

I think it's about time we pulled TL's Laker fan card anyway. Unlike you and I that root for the home team, TL jumped on the Laker bandwagon. He's from Baltimore. I'll give him the Indy Colts, since they used to be in Baltimore. But from now on, he has to be a Baltimore Claws fan for basketball.

              Actually I'm from Jersey!

I fell in love with the Lakers after falling in love with Mr. Clutch way back in circa 1970.

For some reason I got on the Baltimore Orioles bandwagon about the same time but hopped on the Colts bandwagon back circa 1966 with Johnny Unitas leading the way.

              After I relocated to Maryland..

I was among those that booed Elway mercilessly when he came to visit Baltimore for a pre-season game during his rookie season after rejecting the city of Baltimore.

              BTW...

You can have my Laker card the in same way Charlton Heston would let you have his rifle. I believe in "free agency for fans" also.

Big game tonight. I don't think Spurs will remotely duplicate what they did against Warriors their last meeting..

The Spurs just look tired. They seem to be getting old. There is newer blood that right now are playing much better.

And Warriors are one of those Teams.

I am hopeful but will be really surprised if Spurs can stay with them for any length of time tonight.

The Warriors weren't playing that great before the all star break, Robert. Plus, they have not played the Spurs well at home in many years. So, I'm not as sure they will win tonight.

They really need to play their best tonight to beat the Spurs. If they want to be Champs, I think they need to start beating the Spurs, and convincingly. Big test tonight.

Crazy trade deadline. Suns revamped almost their entire line up. What the hell is Philly doing? giving away their best 2 players for draft picks?

The Warriors would have a tough 1st round if the playoffs started with the top 8 now. They would have the Thunder. Westbrook is playing out of his mind. Plus they got Kanter before the trade deadline. Durant and Adams will also be back.

maybe this is inappropriate and you guys can crucify me if you want.

But I remember back in January 1994 ( in my wild days) I had a one night fling with Anthony Masons sister in Nashville. Her name was real distinct. Very exotic when I heard it come out of her mouth. But for some reason I cannot remember it for the life of me.

I met her at a bar near Murfressboro. It was his half sister. I remember talking to her that night and she talked about Anthony buying her a car the last previous month.

Funny, the next morning I remember her telling me that she was going to the Super Bowl and wanted me to come with her.

I said maybe. But I never heard from her again. Oh well.

But the way she talked about him he really seemed like a good guy.

Why did they trade Timofey Mozgov? I thought that guy had a lot of potential and now he's playing well with the Cavs.

By the way, the Mavs have played bad since getting Rondo. He hasn't improved them like many thought he would, including myself.

Rondo is a bad fit for the Mavs. With his recent altercation with Carlisle, I don't see him playing for the Mavs next season. Reggie Jackson is also not doing so well.

Isiah Thomas is doing a good job in Boston.

Even though Shaw can't coach and is another failed coach from the Phil Tree, I actually don't like the timing. I would have let him coach out the season. At this point in the season, you may as well tank the rest of the way and hope to get lucky in the lottery. And I don't see much of a reason to bring in a new guy just to lose games, although I really like Melvin Hunt, who is the interim coach.

Hunt was the only left-over from Karl and I wanted Hunt to replace Karl. Hunt has a great ability to relate to players no matter where they are from. Coincidently, it was Hunt that took Mozgov under his wing and helped Timo cope with being a Russian in America. Melvin Hunt is a class guy.

As far as the timing of firing Shaw...I think the season ticket holders where really getting restless.

Mozgov is a good player and a great fit for what the Cavs needed. The Nuggets like Kurkic and wanted to give him more playing time. Not to mention, that was about the time it seemed like management wanted to start "tanking". Also, they did get two #1 picks for Mozgov, so it was a pretty good deal for both teams IMO.

It was mentioned tonight on ESPN that the warriors will be the first team since the 82 Sixer's team to lead the league in field goal percentage offensively and defensively. This made me look back at that 82 Sixer's team. What a team! 65 and 17 in the regular season and 12 and 1 in the playoffs! They dominated the playoffs. Moses Malone, Doctor J, Bobby Jones, Andrew Toney... Oh, and the three teams they beat in the playoffs were the Lakers ( who I believe won it all the prior year ), Milwaukee ( an excellent team back then ), and and a very decent knick team featuring Bernard King, Bill Cartwright, Paul westfal, Marvin Webster, truck Robinson...

Yea, those Sixers were very good. Don't forget about Mo Cheeks, Caldwell Jones, Clint Richardson and the Mixer - Steve Mix.

I loved their passionate coach Billy Cunningham and how you could hear him constantly shouting instructions to his team - especially when they were on defense.

          "Get off him Andrew!!!"

At times he would slowly become a part of the defense by positioning himself somewhere on the sidelines - with his arms up. By the end of the game his tie would often almost be turned backwards around his neck.

His big kiss on the Doctor was classic.

Good luck in the playoffs Tim.

I'm rooting for a fellow divisional ballclub to go all the way.

Warriors 2015 NBA Champions ?? Good possibility.

But to be considered a All time Top 10 team you actually have to prove yourself in the Playoffs.

The Warriors have yet to do this.

No doubt they are the best team this year but to say that they are the Top 10 off all time is a ridicolous notion as of RIGHT NOW.

Good Lord, they haven't even won an NBA championship. They very well could. They are damn good.

I kind of expected them to lose tough road games or the second game of a back to back at home. But they kept winning and improving. I just always think they are going to win now, and win big.

Steph Curry put a move on Chris Paul last night that Isiah Thomas called embarassing at half time. He didn't just break his ankles, he made him break dance.

People are already have fun with this one:

Oh, and the Warriors won in LA with what seemed like more Warrior fans than Clipper fans cheering. The Clippers sure think so: "Home-court advantage is just not there for us. If that's how it feels in the playoffs, it's not looking good." LOL.

Spurs manhandled Warriors last night. It was not even even close as they never led

And they won the season series

I know Warriors are not going all out full force since they already got home court advantage throughout the playoffs. So this game doesn't really indicate anything.

I don't think their head or heart was in it after celebrating Kerr's record the night before.( Although Curry was good as usual scoring 13 points in 4 minutes to open second half)

                        But still a nice win.

I think the Playoffs are going to be entertaining.

I saw Isiah Thomas on TNT about 2 weeks ago was saying that if Warriors do not win NBA Championship it will be a huge disappointment for the Franchise.

So there is some definite pressure there.

But I have to admit for the most part they seem to be going into the playoffs on all 4 cylinders which should make other teams nervous. And its going to be hard for any team to win in Oakland.
                        Spurs included.

                        Anyway, Leonard look unstoppable.
I hope their not dumb enough to lose him to Free Agency in the future.

He is the Franchise player and the future of Spurs

Yes, another good win over the warriors by the champs. Whoever plays them in the first round is going to have a hard time beating them, home court or not. I just don't see Houston, the clippers or Memphis being able to win a series against the Spurs this year. They are jelling again at the right time.

                          Can't wait for the playoffs!

Spurs great win last night but I am disappointed in Pops and the way the Spurs kept intentionally fouling Josh Smith ( 3rd and 4th quarters) who is lousy free throw shooter

I love Pops but am disappointed why he does this. It is NOT basketball, imo. It was so incessant and disruptive and it is a turnoff for fans and family who pay MAJOR bucks for a seat in an NBA arena to see a competitive game

      Really embarrassing and poor sportsmanship.

      Oh well.

Now your Spurs have new life at repeating.

Yeah Spurs were fortunate. Shot clock was winding down so they would have had to shoot and there still would have been 6 or 7 seconds left. Maybe they would have made it maybe not.

Curry's unreal. As Bobby Jones once said about Jack Nicklaus, " He plays a game I am not familiar with "

Probably the best shooter of the basketball I have ever seen.

Better than Bird, Allen, Miller. All of them. Hands down.

The only shooter I have seen to throw up with no shot and make them with uncanny accuracy like Curry is 89' and 90' LSU tigers with Chris Jackson. Shaq can tell you about that. Also Kurt may have heard of him by another name with Nuggets, Mahmoud Abdul-Rauf.

The best college player I have ever seen.

But even he is still not in league of Curry

I remember his coach Dale Brown telling him to "take over baby" during a college game.

I don't remember much of what Abdul-Rauf did on the court in the NBA but I do remember him not wanting to stand and/or salute the American flag.

IMHO, he was a very misguided young man who threw away a great career and lots of money.

As for the Curry being the best long range shooter of allll time...

I'd have to see his actual shooting stats over time and during crunch time compare.

He may seem to you like the best shooter of all time to you but is he really? Do the stats agree?

I still have a table top NBA simulation game (from the 1980s) named Status Pro Basketball from a game company named Avalon Hill that took actual yearly player stats and rated each NBA player in like 9 -11 categories and put that info on a 1 inch wide by 3 inch long card.

Via game play, the players over time and the teams performed mostly as they did during the particular regular season.

I was a great game with lots of coaching decisions, but of course with most tabletop games of the past - there was luck involved.

BTW, your Spurs "D'd up" the Clippers last night.

Congrats, I see the Spurs moving on and will go back to LA up 3-1.

The Pelicans played the Warriors really tough the first 2 3/4 games. Davis is a fantastic player. A couple more pieces and some experience and they could go very far in the playoffs.

I'm glad to see the Clippers and spurs series tied and going to at least 6 games.

        Spurs win a nail biter
        Their bench is tough.

Griffin looks like the premiere Power Forward in the league, no doubt !

its quite a shame to see one of these Teams having to leave after the first round.

Something needs to be fixed so this doesn't happen again.

P.S. hadn't heard from Dennis about his Bucks. What a win the last night. Can't believe they won at Chicago

The playoff matchups are designed based on regular season records.

Why does something need to be fixed?

I was wrong about the Spurs going up 3-1 but I think they'll win the next game in San Antone and move on while the Clippers go fishing.

If you don't win your first round matchup IMHO - you should be gone.

Is this a 4-5 matchup? I couldn't find the info on nba.com - I just looked at the standings and this is a 3-6 matchup even though LA won just one more game than your guys.

I think it used to be that the top 2 divisional winner from each conference would get the top two seeds in the conference playoffs and everyone else would be lined up by regular season records. 1 would play 8, 2 plays 6 and so on.

It looks like that's what the NBA is doing.

I forgot the NBA has 6 divisions.

I started out rooting for the Clippers to beat your Spurs but I really can't stand that team. So I'm hoping you guys beat the Clippers and then face Houston. Looks like we got Memphis next.

By the way, the Clippers have a weak bench and don't play good team defense. Yes, they beat the Warriors last year but I'm pretty sure we would sweep them this year, one of the reasons I was rooting for them at first.

I don't know Tim. Dunk is still great but old. Griffin when he gets going he is unstoppable. I know Davis is great too.

Plus, Griffin has a wicked mid range jumper. Just wicked for a big man. He has a deft touch !!

Spurs couldn't close it out. Clippers came out with determination and were relentless. Leonard looked really weak and Parker is just way off the mark.

Game 7 should be a good one.

If Parker had been playing like the last few years ,we wouldn't be going to 7. Im totally convinced of that

Game 7 just getting started. I'm picking the spurs because they are the Champs, play better defense and beat the mavs in a game 7 last year in a similar series. I think Houston is playing better than these two teams though. Should be the Dubs vs Rockets in the con finals.

My Spurs are sent home fishing tonight. Hell of a series. Probably the best first rounder in NBA history.
                    Dunk was magnificent

Griffin and Paul were as well.

Paul is a superstar and showed it when he was injured and still did what he did.

Looks like I will be rooting for the Team I grew up with as a boy. ATL Hawks.

I started watching Lou Hudson, John Drew, and Tree Rollins way back in the 70s. And my family would travel from Knoxville to Atlanta and watch them play at the Omni.

Doc Rivers and Dominique had one hell of a team in the mid 80s. They came so close against the Celtics to making it to the Finals

Anyway, I think Clippers will have a tough time with Rockets.

I dont care much for Harden and Dwight so I may root for Clippers.

                    Hawks and Warriors tomorrow.

Its hard to take my Spurs hat off but honestly I am excited to see my old team play the Wizards.

Feel the same about Lebron. That Atlanta - Wash series should be a great one. All 4 should be interesting at least, and perhaps a couple great series. Dubs hopefully will dispose of the Grizzlies quickly. Not having Mike Conley healthy is going to really hurt Memphis.

Of course I remember Mahmoud...I watched him at LSU before he became a Nugget and was the best player on his LSU team that included Shaq. I agree that Curry and Mahmoud are very similar in style, although Curry is the better player.

As to the best pure shooter ever, I'll take Rick Mount. This is just for shooing jumpers, not getting yourself open, shooting off the dribble, etc.

Curry to get the mvp sources say. It will be officially announced tomorrow and he'll be presented it beforeTuesday's game! Cool! And we'll deserved. The guy works his butt off to improve every year. He's a good guy also.

Excellent artice about Curry, his dad, his grandpa and a hoop out on the street.

Wow !! Unreal kickoff of Round 2 . Who would have thought these Home Court losses...
        1.Cavs lose to Bulls
        2.Hawks lose to Wizards
        3. Rockets lose to Clippers
        4.Warriors lose to Grizzly

Conley was unreal all things considering and what he has been through ! And Memphis is just tough down low and that could be the Warriors undoing . I think this goes 7 games. And Iam sure Grizzlies will be shooting to have their home crowd push them to end it sooner.

Iam liking the Bulls more and more. I'm rooting for the Hawks but Iam going to go ahead and call this, Bulls are going to win it all this year.
D-Rose is picking up where he left off 4 years ago. He may be the best player in the playoffs this year. Gasol and Noah are a wicked duo down low

Man, it is a breath of fresh air to just relax and watch these games instead of being all stressed out the last few years with my Spurs

Wow, D- Rose last second 3 pointer to beat Cavs. A little lucky off the backboard.
But 30 pts and good game.

Clippers and Rockets next. I would like to see Rockets win, actually.
Iam not a huge fan of Clippers especially with a poor sport and thug like Barnes.

Some of the things he has done lately really turns me off to Clippers. Going after Harden's Mom.

I witnessed that shot by Rose at the buzzer.

I'm not surprised by Matt Barnes and I don't care who wins as long as it's not the men in green.

That bulls/Cavs game was a hell of a game. Lebron seems to be a step slower than a couple years ago.

The Clippers are playing better than I thought they would against Houston.

The last two games for the Warriors have been ugly. The first half of this 3rd game was the worst. Just terrible play. Hard to understand. I think the coaching has reacted slowly but I saw some life in tonight's second half. I think the Warriors will go small earlier and way more. Their defense really stepped up in the second half and a lot of that had to do with strategy.

            Tim,
I don't know maybe its me but I think the Warriors will win Game 4. Good gosh ,people are talking like this series is over.

I can't see a team like the Warriors losing 3 in a row. I think they are making adjustments just like you said

So I'm thinking they are going to take it in Game 4. Just a gut feeling I have.

I remember last year in the Spurs championship run they fell to Heat Game 2 at SA. People were talking about how Lebron just seemed to have it in for the Spurs. And that the Series was over because Heat regained home court advantage. Sure enough we made adjustments and ended up dominating Heat in Game 3 at Miami.

So there could be some similarities there.

Anyway, the Hawks lost a heat breaker. Pierce, came up with an amazing last second shot. I got to see the very end at Luby's with my family on a small tv there.

The scary thing is I believe Pierce was going for the bank. I have seen him do it before.

Can't wait to see Noah and Lebron go at it tomorrow. Should be fun

Yes, Tim's Warriors are in big danger.

If they go down 3-1 to a "playoff experienced team" like Memphis --- it's all over.

    And...

Paul Pierce strikes again at the buzzer as the Wizards grab a 2-1 lead over the Hawks - without John Wall.

Houston and Cleveland are also in big danger - down 2-1 with game 4 in enemy territory.

    Enjoy!!

Monte Williams was fired by New Orleans today. I think he did a pretty good job this year actually. The Pelicans were playing some of the best ball in the league the last few weeks of the year and also played the Warriors pretty tough in the playoffs even though they were swept.

Now, there are two coaching vacancies that are very desirable, NO and OKC. I heard the Bull's Thibodeau mentioned as a possible replacement through a trade of some sort.

Lebron and Cavs put Bulls out of their misery - blowing them out in Chi-town.

Lebron in East finals for 5th year in a row. I doubt the Hawks or Wizards will stop him from going to the NBA finals - again.

Epic collapse by Clippers keep Kevin Mchale and his Rockets alive for a game 7 in Houston.

I stopped watching when the Clips were up by like 16, returned 15 minutes later to see their lead dwindle to about 5 and returned 10 minutes later and the Rockets were up by like 13.

    WOW!

If they don't win this series Ole Man Rivers could be in trouble and may not return.

I think he's overrated. His one Championship was with a loaded Celtics team. I wonder if the Clippers would fire him though. Not being a Clippers fan, I would love to see them lose to Houston just so we find out. On the other hand, I want to see a Warriors/Clippers match up in the Conference finals. We gotta get rid of Memphis first though and hopefully do that tonight.

The Bulls crumbled last night. Just terrible offense. I think either the Hawks or the Wizards will be a tougher opponent than the Bulls were.

Yep. Pierce still plays at a high level and is clutch. I like that Wiz team. Congrats to the Hawks. They are going to have to step up their game big time to beat the Cavs.

Yes, Mr. Curry is playing like an MVP and your Warriors have sent a message after meeting their first real challenge in the playoffs.

                      I'll say this...

You guys certainly know how to run plays to get your guys good looks at the basket and I'm taken aback by Harrison Barnes and his offensive prowess.

It looks to me like a Golden State vs Cleveland NBA Finals and it should be a good one.

            It will be interesting
            Yes. It will hurt. Buahahahaha!

The Rockets had one of the best players in the league in covering Curry but Beverly is injured still. He really is a terrific defensive point guard and gives Curry problems.

I think the Clippers would have given the warriors a tougher time. Clippers looked very tired today.

I forgot they were up 3-1.

Wow, what an infamous list to belong to and what a glorious list for the Rockets.

          Oh yeah.

Tim just curious if you don't mind me asking what did you pay ?

Also, what section will you be at so we can look for you on TV?

If my memory serves me well in your avatar before this one ( not the bicep shot lol ) you resembled a young Donald Sutherland.

          Is that accurate

I'll be in the upper section baseline area. Not a great seat but I just wanted to go to experience this series in person. It cost just over $200. There were standing room only tickets going for $300 on the first level.

I went to the Warriors Mavs playoff series the year the mavs won 67, were the #1 seed, the warriors were #8 and the warriors beat them. Anyways, I remember paying about $80 for that one in a better section.

If you want to see me I'll be the one with a copy of Kurts avatar glued to my forehead.

Donald Sutherland? Haven't heard that before but I'll take it. A young one.

Hang in there TL, tomorrow is the NBA draft lottery. The future of our teams depend on the ping pong balls.

What sucks is, the Nuggets have never won the lottery to where we picked higher than our position. 3 times we've had the worst record in the NBA and didn't get the #1 pick.

I believe we had the worst record the year David Robinson went #1. I'm pretty sure we were also worst when Duncan came out. (You're welcome Discrat for both). And we were tied with Cleveland for worst record when Lebron came out, and we got Carmelo.

The Dubs overcome a bad start, go small and win game one.

The Lakers get lucky, keep their 1st round pick and move up past the Knicks. The curse is still on though.
