So can all the other big phones. This just a bunch of stupid Android fanbois jeolous of the 10 million sales. For Samsung to hit 10 mil they'll have to wait a few more lifetimes. lol.

Samsung managed to sell 11 million Galaxy S5 units in the first month:

Considering the fractured Android market versus the closed Apple market, those numbers appear pretty good.

Also Third Party device insurer Square Trade has given the iPhone 6 & 6 Plus their Highest Breakability rating.

"SquareTrade®, the top-rated protection plan trusted by millions of happy customers, today announced the iPhone 6 and its larger sibling, iPhone 6 Plus, performed impressively in Breakability testing, and each carries the top Breakability Score™ in their respective category. The SquareTrade Breakability Score ranks today's top devices based on how prone they are to break due to accidents. Evaluating key elements such as front and back panel design, edge construction and materials, size, weight, friction quotient, water resistance and grip-ability, SquareTrade's Breakability Score fills in the missing gap left by traditional device reviews: it tests devices in everyday danger situations brought on by our lifestyles and habits."

This just a bunch stupid Android b****s mad that their Quad core phones were beaten to a pulp by the Dual Core iPhone in all the benchmarks, and that they sold such record numbers. lol.

I'm sorry, Carpet. I missed the part of your post where you clarified that Samsung has already sold more than ten million units. I was stuck on that whole "few more lifetimes" part.

Good for Apple. However, the comparison is, uh, eh, Apples to oranges considering their market structures. Android users have several different brand options to chose from. You can't simply compare Samsung sales with Apple sales.

I would've bought one myself but I am totally happy with the 5s and the full power of the A7 chip has yet to be tapped. Plus I like my phones small unlike most little men who need a large Samsung assisted bulge in their pants to compensate.

I'm getting a 6+. I see nothing wrong with having two bulges in my pants. It pays to advertise.

The biggest design flaw I see in iPhones is simple: You can't replace the battery easily.

Not a real power phone user, though. As long as the thing makes calls, sends/receives texts, and plays MP3s, I'm mostly happy. Give me an easy to swap battery and removable storage, and it's all good.

Looked at the Samsung Galaxies and I'm actually inclined more toward the S3 than the newer ones. It claims better battery life (the reviews seems to support that), and I see a lot of owners who like it better than the more recent models.

I've got a Droid Razr Maxx and you can't replace the battery at all that I can see. I haven't had a problem so far and it's over a year old. It's under warranty, so if it ever does go bad, I'll just go get a new one or they'll fix this one at no charge.

Of course there's a design flaw.

It gives them an excuse to bring out the iPhone7

You could probably put a 3 TB hard drive in that thing with storage left over to hide your keys and your wallet.

        Suzanne,

A lot of the places I go get extreme snow, and I've more than once been stuck away from home. Once for 2 weeks, because the roads were all closed.

Easily swapped batteries are very handy in such situations. Especially if a storm takes out the power wherever I end up. And assuming the cell system still works...

Spare batteries can be (and have been, for me) the difference between a major problem and a minor inconvenience.

I agree. I started with the Droid X and it had a swappable battery, so when I bought the Razr Maxx, I didn't even really notice that it didn't. I'd much rather it did. Thing is ... I hate talking on the phone, and I really only use it to tether to my computer for Internet access, which I can't do either way if the power goes out, so I guess it serves my purpose ok, but I don't know if I'd buy the same model again, knowing that.

And here we have Blackberry's new Passport

There's something a bit different about being served a square slice of pizza. The same can be said about BlackBerry's new square smartphone.

BlackBerry CEO John Chen unveiled the company's new Passport phone today at an event in Toronto where he explained the virtues of the square device -- and cracked a few jokes at the expense of Apple.

"I will challenge you guys to bend a Passport which you are about to see," he said, referring to reports that some users have inadvertently bent their iPhone 6 Plus devices.
