I want to start a web design business targeting local brick and mortar businesses, And would like some ideas on how to approach the business owners for the best result.

      Simply walk in and ask. Get the conversation started.
      Low key. No stress. Be interested in what they have to say.

    It's also worth finding out about local business events and clubs happening in your local area. These are great for introducing yourself and making new contacts.
