Just some basic questions

I am planning to sell web design services to offline businesses. I would like my customers to register a domain and sign up for hosting through my link.

What do I say to my clients if they want to install a blog instead - which they can do through blogger.com or wordpress.com . What is the USP of an HTML site which justifies the recurring cost of domain and hosting.

Thank you for your time and your help.

    They own it.

Blogger etc. are platforms owned by others. Meaning they can get locked out, have their content taken away, or have the whole thing disappear in a moment--without having done anything 'bad' to make it their fault.

But seriously, you should use this as a qualifying tool. If someone doesn't already know why they should own their own platform, why would you want to push working with them?

My advice: get out there and mix it up with some real business owners. You'll get better questions than this theoretical one to come back here and ask.

      Thanks Jason,

Much appreciated. I have not had any contact with prospective customers as yet. But your USP should be all that is required to sell them

      Thanks again
