HI, I don't know where to go. So I decided to start a powersports marketing agency. I have no angles cold calling, I just do not know how to target my customers. Any help in this niche?

    Hi,

    Just curious.

What kind of marketing help can you offer others, when you don't know how to market yourself?

What Ron Lafuddy is saying basically, is your question speaks of inexperience in marketing yourself. Agencies are tasked with marketing other peoples' stuff, making it nearly impossible to do without successfully doing it for yourself.

The statement: "I just need an angle to get powersports dealers," is the problem.

There is no particular 'angle' anyone can use to attract prospects, because marketing in itself consists of trying many things to find just ONE thing that actually works...and then doing more of that.

Your angle would be how your experience in those areas relate to helping powersports dealers make more money or save more money. Can you articulate to a dealer how YOUR Adwords, SEO, and graphic design experience will bring them higher profits (compared to the last person who just contacted them)? Can you show them results you've already gotten for another dealer? If not, can they get a demo of your services?

If so, you're in there like swimwear. All it takes is reaching out to as many dealers as you know, and giving them your spiel until you get one to say !YES!

And the more people you reach out to, the better you'll get doing it.

Right, I totally understand where you guys are coming from, and yes I did shortwind it. So it does sound bad. No but I have tried cold calling, and I don't have an angle into these guys. For example with wordpress and small business stuff (NON POWERSPORTS) I will jsut call and let them know there wp-admin is still available to the public, and it could expose security issues, then lead into the convo that way.

I really just can't think of anything that I want to come in with. I have been just introducing myself. I have had call backs. But these guys need products. Like retargeting but with a name, like I was thinking about doing this, "The sleeper" And that is a advanced retargeting program that retargets everyone who checked out a bike.

PSN there web provider, or most of them is just crap go look at the urls in mostly any dealership site (powersports) I can offer monthly maintenance, and be significantly cheaper.

On top of that I crashed my motorcycle (near fatal) and I dont have much money. So (Testing) things are hard. I am just trying to research and hopefully unlock a little gem before I spend any money.

Perhaps their buyers are not searching online. I'd always want to try out a bike or suchlike before I buy, or at least sit on it...

Which means you want a way of getting people through the door... probably not something your stated skills lend themselves to...

So? Few business owners will be swayed by cheaper. Cheaper is equated to poor quality, poor service.

And those who are price conscious are generally the worst customers you can get.

Do any market to their existing customers? Can you put together a decent email/direct mail campaign for them. This is almost always the quickest way to generate some extra profit. And can be tested quickly and cheaply. This will help gain trust, then you could move them on to other stuff...

And if you charge commission on each sale, rather than a set fee, you can make a lot of money quickly, with little risk to client...

      Here's your pitch:
If I can create one or more profit centres for your business that costs you nothing ...
That you have full control of ..
Where I do all the work to orchestrate it ...
And I can get your current customers to buy MORE ...
And I can get your current customers to buy MORE OFTEN...
And I can get your old customers who haven't purchased in a long time REACTIVATED ...
Will you give me [10%, 20%, 30%) of the bottom-line profit it brings in?

Unfortunately there is no angle. Only hard work and effort my friend.

Create a landing page with a report on something that will resonate with power sport dealers. Direct traffic to that landing page via paid ads and seo.

If they sign up to your list you can them email market them and build those leads into paying customers.

Your "proof" that you can do it is that you just did it for your own business.

As I said before, there is no angle. just hard work.

My primary business deals in angles all day....mostly 45 degrees.

We join two 45 degree angles to make a 90 degree angle.

Do that four times and we have a frame.

There are many competitors who also think they can join angles into frames but that is where the complication arises,

A small gap and your credibility is destroyed.

Some people try to "fill the gap"

When you are trusted to deliver a product gap-free that is what a client expects.

If you want an angle you should consider closing the gap between the abilities you have and what the prospects want.

Once you understand how to make those gaps so small or even non-existent you will form a bond with your prospect that completes the picture you are looking for.

    Kind regards,

    Ozi

Good way to "frame" it, Ozi.

    To OP:

If they are anything like Harley, or at least how Harley was, they don't really make
profit off the vehicle. They have a lot of money tied up in inventory and building
overhead and any loans they have.

So, they probably make money off gear, accessories, and service. So, you help
them, at first, by getting them more of that business. Help them with in store promos,
    mail and internet.

I'd also look at the manufacturers of the brands they sell. Of those manufacturers,
which ones provide money to their dealers for marketing. Maybe that, if it exists,
is something they've overlooked and your finding that for them gives you credibility.

I'd talk to a few of the more marketing savvy dealers to find out more about how you can help
them get more buyers of ______, ______, and ______.

Maybe they do need a better converting website, or maybe that's not their main focus now.
