Offering work at cost in exchange for warm introductions?

I'm using Linkedin to get people on board for PPC for free in exchange for a testimonial. I think a good next step would be to try to get warm introductions from these people in exchange for lower cost service.

Do you guys think this is a good move? How many introductions (over the phone) would be considered fair for this? I'm thinking if I get a testimonial and somewhere between 3 to 5 I'll be pretty happy.

    No...No,no, no, no, no.

Sell your service at the price you want to. Offer a money back guarantee if you fail to produce results. Over deliver. And the people that are wild about your service? They will gratefully give you testimonials and introductions to their friends and associates.

If you offer your service at cost, then you have ....right then...established your price. You'll never be able to charge their referrals more.

Offering to work for free is a trap that you have set for yourself. You'll attract the bargain shoppers..the least profitable and most demanding clients. The problem children.

    I speak from experience.

I completely agree with Claude. Don't underestimate your value or work.
And as he said, providing good service and over delivering will get you good reviews.

It's hard to land first couple of clients, but later, everything goes easier. Speaking from experience too.
