New Movers Are BIG Spenders

Well some of those could be spending money with you or your clients.

They are going to be spending it with these...

Dentists
Family practitioners
Eye doctors
Hair salons
Nail salons
Day spas
Gyms
Dance studios
Private schools
Day care
Music teachers
Tutors
Churches
HVAC
Landscapers
Pest Control
Plumbing
Pool service
Remodeling companies
Flooring companies
Construction and roofing companies
Window companies
Carpet cleaners
Furniture retailers
Specialty shops

What's compelling is that 100% of those surveyed said
they are planning on buying a new piece of furniture.

I know from my friends that recently moved one spent
$11,000 on painting and flooring.

The other $55,000 with 5 different contractors.
He would of spent more if he had not run out of money.

Anyway, here's the numbers on what's to be spent...

Of course, all these services are needed. But to me, the takeaway from this is that after buying a home (the biggest purchase in a life) their "Buying glands" are turned on. It's so much easier for someone to spend money, when they are in the middle of spending money.

A related phenomenon is New Businesses. Starting a business, you usually have some money, either borrowed or set aside. The rule is...the first people there...get the money.

New business owners (their first business, anyway) tend to make their buying decisions based on whichever rep calls on them first.

    Phenomenal stuff as always.

      This quote stood out...

"When asked what products they plan to purchase within
the first six months 58% responded that they would purchase a new automobile,"

I think that figure fairly screams out to car dealers to mail to new home owners.

          Yep.

The personalization can be taken a step further than
          "welcome to the neighborhood".

By finding out what make, model, new
or used in pass buying history, one can serve the right message
to the right person without paying for wastage in advertising. ,

Y'all heard of the Welcome Wagon? They been around forever...

Whenever you move you get a packet from the welcome wagon. It's a list of special offers from local businesses.

Also, if you go to the post office and do a change of address, there are coupons in the packet...someone already knows when to target...

This is def true. A friend moved to a new apt. Now she's overwhelmed with all the things she "has to" buy. I'm like, do u really have to buy anything? Haha .. bad question. She got sh*tty with me.

People want NEW. When they're in that mode, everything looks old.
