Personally? I'd go with a self-hosted wordpress blog. You will need to purchase a domain name and get hosting for it.

I agree with Leslie that is the best way to go. You can get a theme and have a blog tied to it. One thing I did was built my marketing website for customers and it has a blog in it as well that I am gonna start writing on.

Hey,

Wordpress I would say it the best blog site to go if your looking to become and expert in your niche, because there offer customizations & plugins like no other site.

If your looking for simplicity then tumbler would be a perfect match. Tumblr is literally the easiest blog site to get started with you can litterally have a blog up in running in no time.

It all depends on your preference. I personally have a wordpress self-hosted blog & I love it. It was a headache setting it up though.

I agree with the group - wordpress without a doubt. It's worth learning (VERY simple) plus knowing one platform well makes it easier to convince clients to use.

If you have some money and can afford your own hosting I'd say wordpress but if this is not the case there are many other free blogging sites like tumblr, blogger, or xanga.

Find $8 for a domain and as little as a dollar a month will cover your hosting - self hosted wordpress is the ONLY way to go!

If you want a professional looking blog, a self hosted Wordpress platform is the only way to go. You can customize it to your needs, make it look nice and prefessional, add your content, monetize it. Wordpress is easy to learn, easy to tweak when needed, etc.

For the best blogging platform, I'll choose like most others a self-hosted Wordpress blog. If you can't get a domain and hosting for now and you want a "blogging site where you'll start your blog", then go with Blogger.com - very easy to start and to use.

WordPress is hands-down the best platform.

In certain niches, there are existing authority sites that will give you a bump with Google when you write your articles there.

Ex: real estate / mortgage niche - Active Rain
internet marketing niche - Warrior Forum
