Have you ever heard of a Tweetup?
It's a meeting - usually with finger foods, little giveaways, drinks, etc. - where Tweeters from a specific area get together and network. This is a great way to meet new people, share marketing ideas, and locate new business partners. From these Tweetups, I've seen local business owners find new outlets for selling their products and partners for creating co-marketing efforts. Additionally, I've seen the new friendships created boost viral marketing: if two people know each other, they are more likely to advertise and ReTweet the other person's offers.
You can often find a local Tweetup by searching for your city on Tweetup.org or Meetup.com, or by following your city's hashtag (Mine is #ILM). This may be one new method for boosting your business.
