I have a (probably dumb) question.

I know you can take a QR code, and have it created to visit a website or send an SMS message, etc.

BUT....

How do you SEND a QR Code VIA sms? (If that makes sense?)

Do you just send a text message with a link that contains the QR Code?

2nd (possibly dumb) question:

I know that there are "some" SMS providers who have tracking to show you how many people have opened up an SMS message, and how many have redeemed coupons sent from sms.

(Tried one system - nightmares constantly trying to log in - won't go into it because the system is probably good, but just issues issues issues...)

Anyway, another one (that works where I am), said they don't have that kind of tracking...

Is there a pretty SIMPLE way of doing that? Does anyone know? (Tracking the SMS message/coupon).

Obviously on their phone, they don't want to print.... so I'm just looking at it from the concept of even how many opened it. I don't think you can put in an image to track and see how many opened it (Through true SMPP) right? I'm possibly overthinking here...

You would use MMS (multimedia messaging service), which sends graphics (also sound and video). You would embed a tracking link to report open rate.

  • I have noticed many more businesses using it. It seems like the bigger ones in town have it on some of their paper ads. But, they are a national company with a location here in town. It is coming, this QR Code thing!!
