question about mobile apps...

anybody have experience with mobile apps? my client a restaurant is thinking about going with this company here 99 Apps - $99 iPhone Apps for Restaurants . I would like to find a warrior or warrior referral to company that can do what these guys do,so i can more so control the process. if anyone knows who the resident app guru here on forum please let me know

    Look into the WSO section. A number of warriors here provide those services.

    I might also talk to them about why they want an app. Apps are great and they are typically more interactive than mobile websites. But if your client doesn't have a mobile site I would get that done first.

    Yes apps could be more interactive than mobile websites. But a lot can be done with a web-app too. Getting an app made will be restrictive to specific devices, you'll need a different app for iPhones and Androids, with a web-app you can support iPhones, Androids, Palms, Blackberries, etc. all at the same time via a web-app.

    Also look at the pricing for the 99apps site. There's an additional $99 setup fee for most of the functionality that your client will want PLUS a $15 monthly fee for each additional functionality. $114 'here and there' will add up FAST. This of course doesn't matter if the client is willing and able to pay for it
