Sick of being Poor...

We all know that not every thing on this world that money can buy.

Money can be useful sometimes and it depends on how you handle.

Like if you go for a transportation, you need money... if you're hungry you need to buy something... or something like that.

Kinda sick of being poor. I'm just an average guy!

I make money but it's just enough for the table.

Hope you will share also your blessings! Thanks.

I'm not sure what to say here. You say you are sick of being poor. You may be rich and you don't know it! If you eat 3 meals a day, have a roof over your head an occasionally go out once and a while, you're not poor my friend.

Rich for someone does not necessarily being rich for someone else. Let me rephrase that in a clearer way.

Some people are poorer than you and see you as a rich fellaw! You cannot say you are poor unless you compare yourself with Bill Gates!

With all due respect, Stop Whining...

Being sick of being poor is a good thing, the sicker you get the more you will begin to use your power to create.

    It begins with

"What can I leverage that I already have..."?

    A: A computer
    B: The internet
    C: A phone
    D: Affiliate programs
    E: Intellectual properties?

What tools do I already have that I could make money with? What opportunities already surround me that I've not been taking advantage of"?

I am by far not a marketing millionaire myself friend. I work 60 hour week night shifts and teach myself copywriting during the day.

2 years ago you would of see me playing guitar on the street so I can stay at a motel if I was lucky. There is so much more to this but we must not dwell in the past.

Let it be motivation for you, my friend. So often people let their thoughts run into the gutter and It is very hard to get out.

Don't forget about the dirt and the sun,
the smell and the taste of the air from the ocean.
And never forget about the moon and the stars,
and the warmth of the summer on a dark starry night.

I hear you my friend. Been there done that more than once. In fact, I do believe that train just departed the poor station on its way to Prosperityville.

My experience has been that the more my focus gets locked onto something, such as being poor, wishing that the pretty girl would notice me, etc. Then the more I stay locked into whatever rut it is that I'm in.

For me, it's hard as hell to break out of a cage like that by thinking alone. An old timer once told me that I can't think my way into right actions, instead, I've got to act my way into right thinking.

This being Super Bowl weekend, I'll borrow a metaphor from Robert Scheinfeld. This story has helped me several times.

The NFL season starts out in July with 32 teams. Now its down to just two. The players have practiced and studied everything they can. The coaches have coached and the trainers have trained. Everybody is ready.

Tens of thousands have traveled to Dallas, checked into their hotels, bought their souvenirs and now they are presenting their tickets to get into the stadium.

The millions of fans world wide have stocked up on food and beverages and now sit at their t.v.'s waiting for the big game. Anticipation builds for everyone.

Finally the big moment arrives, both teams meet on the 50 yard line. The referee tosses the coin high in the air and then announces. "Green Bay wins 28 -17. You can all go home now".

There's a loud cry of WTF!!! Even the Green Bay team and fans are unhappy. The referee interrupts and says "I had to do it, many players would have gotten injured if the game were played. This saves everyone the time, the trouble and all the pain".

I'm sure you already know where this going. The victories in life are all the more sweeter because of the price we are willing to pay in order to get them. When the chips are down and you're up to your eyeballs in mud and you're cold and aching, it doesn't seem like fun. But that's the time we have to remember the big picture. The reality might be that if we just punch ahead for six more inches, we score the go ahead touch down.

Last thing I'll say is, every-time that I've been in a bad spot and made the effort to help someone who appeared to be worse off then me, my perception of my problems improved ...

And the sun will come out tomorrow (at least in Colorado it will).

Absolutely true for me also. Sign up for some volunteer work - preferably where you are interacting directly with people in need. Mentally, you will feel much better afterwards.

Here's the key: commit and put it in your calendar. There are days when I've been in a real funk, and because I was expected to show up, I did. And almost everytime, on the drive back home, I've been quietly amazed at how much better I felt.

Whether you are spiritually inclined or not, you will find volunteer work helps you get your focus back.

Those are the times you look back on... when your eyeballs are covered in mud... and you KNOW within yourself that the "failure" would never have been willing to do the things you were willing to do..., inwardly it feels better because you know you got where you are not by having a silver spoon, but by having more spirit than those who were unwilling to do what it took to succeed.

You remember the mud, and you remember the determination... and you remember that you are a MAN AMONG MEN... and that only people of your caliber can go through what you have been through and stand where you are...

In other words you will know: "You cant be me without paying the price".

Somewhere in that realization you BECOME who you are, and you accept yourself as a person of greatness... (As Maslows pyramid illustrates).

Competition becomes less scary. You know first hand what it takes to beat you, because you have been through the course , and you know the average person isnt gonna come close. The average person isnt willing to stay out all night in the mud and crawl under the barb wire to get where you are.... like you did.

"The career I have chose is laden with opportunity, yet it is also fraught with heartbreak and despair. The bodies of those who have come before me and failed, were they piled atop one another would cast its shadows down upon all the pyramids of the earth, but I will not fail as the others... for I have in my hands charts which will lead me through troubled waters, to shores which only yesterday seemed but a dream...".

When you get to those shores you dont just "have" something special, you know that you ARE someone special, from a rare breed, a force to be reckoned with, ... and you view the spoils only as your just reward for being a person of greatness, and doing the things that failures refuse to do...

The true satisfaction is who you become... the rest comes along as a bi product.

Like me for instance.... I have worked so hard and been in the trenches so much that I can afford to take time and write inspirational notes to folks like yourself right now without worrying that I "should be" doing something else... thats a bi product of WHO I AM... , and much more valuable than any money that comes along is knowing that.

Who you are is not a by product of "where" you are.... its the opposite way around.

Thats why competition doesn't bug me. I paid the price to be me... and I know that your average failure would never be able to pull the willingness to "TRY" out of themselves, that it took for me to stand here and say "I am not as the failures".

This doesnt just apply to online business, it also applies to football, millitary, culinary arts, music painting, karate... what ever it is you are wanting to become a person of greatness at. You have to be willing to do what failures arent. You'll be proud of yourself for that later.

      Wow. What a great journey!

      EMBRACE THE MUD!!!!!!

      EMBRACE THE MUD!!!

You are more hardcore. You will not fail as the others.

Really loved your post Randy. Very inspiring in 5 different ways.

    Hi,

I think you are broke not poor. I know broke that's how I know the difference lol.

A year ago I was where you are. In fact I was on foodstamps and government assistance a year ago, and now I'm not. Now I feed my kids and my dog with money I make online.

So, imagine the motivation of hungry kids and a 200 lb dog that nibbles on you if he can't eat. Imagine the motivation of shut off notices, and looming foreclosure of your home...

IF you are unhappy DO SOMETHING...
connect with me and I can help you

Not promising overnight riches but in 6 months I was able to get off government assistance, and 2 months after that I was off the food stamps.

I'd love to help you. Also, stop calling yourself poor, broke or any of the other negative names. Start calling yourself what you want to be.

Like MLK jr said "It's not what they call you, it's what you answer to..." and you need to start calling yourself better names and answer to them.

    Just my thoughts.

    I know a Navy Seal.

Tough SOB and very rich too.

If you are a Navy Seal decide what you want and go take it.

If you are confused you need only to focus.

If you haven't found your focus then you need to test different things.

    Oh boy.

There are people on this planet who are living in much more harsh conditions. I wouldn't be complaining if I were you.

If you aren't pleased about your financial situation right now, I'd recommend finding something else unrelated to Internet Marketing. Get your priorities straight. Get an hourly wage job, that way you aren't hoping you are going to make money enough money.

    Count your blessings...

    Best Regards,

    Navy Seal,
I understand where you're at, I've been there! Telling you to "stop whining" isn't helpful. What you asked for is for someone to "share blessings" with you, right? Well an inspiring word picture like Randy Miller shared is a blessing because it is encouraging you to get in the game and do something you can be proud of (Inspiration). John Durham, blessed you with some insight on how to leverage what you already have - that is helpful! (Leverage) Tishwash encouraged you to "reframe" your mindset for success instead of lack - good stuff there too!(Mindset)

If I may, I want to encourage you to take the advice and offerings from the warriors that I mentioned and internalize them and make them part of you. I would further offer this to you as a workable 7 step plan for you to make an additional income to solve some of your financial woes. (Plan)

#1 Open Your Local Newspaper and cut out 10 - 15 display ads from local businesses
#2 Drive by the business and snap a few photos on your way home from work -or- grab some screenshots from their website (use jing - its free and simple to use) and save them to a folder on your desktop
#3 Go to Animoto and create a video for each company using the photos, some simple copy like "Plumbing problems?, Need a reliable plumber?, A plumber who won't rip you off?, A plumber who is on time? Call 555-5555 Now!" and once the video is created, save it to your computer and also upload it to youtube.
#4 Take a clean sheet of paper and tape the advertisement to the blank page, and hand write a note beside it saying "I saw your ad in the xyz newspaper ----> but I found something about your company online you may want to know about. Give me a call at (your number)xxx-xxxx Thanks, Your Name -or- e-mail me at youremail@xyz.com
#5 Send this letter to the business in a regular envelope handwritten address and a stamp
#6 Take the calls or e-mails you get and introduce yourself as an online media consultant and tell them you have taken the time to create a brief professional video commercial for their business that they could use for their marketing efforts, and for the next 7 days you've steeply discounted the investment for all xyz newspaper advertisers from your normal $497 down to $197 but only for 7 days because of your agreement with your production guy (you). Get them the link to the video but let them know it will only be available on youtube for 7 days but if they'd like to have a copy of it on DVD for their unrestricted use, you'll deliver it within 24hrs of their order
#7 Deliver a DVD when you pick up the check!

    Total cost involved : Newspaper $1, Paper - envelope - postage $.60 ea x 15= $9, DVD's $.50 each x 3= $1.50 TOTAL =$11.50
    Sales income $197 x 3 sales = $591

    Profit ($591 - $11.50) = $579.50

Total Time from start to cash = 7 days!

      Great post!

      @navyseal
All is not lost! Give thanks for what you do have and don't complain about what you don't have.

Follow joshimo's method and you will succeed.

The most difficult obstacle to overcome in this universe is inertia. (Inertia is the resistance of any physical object to a change in its state of motion or rest.) In other words, get off your butt and take the first step! Don't concern yourself with step 2 or step 3, just get up and complete step 1. Once that's done, keep pushing forward and complete step 2 and so forth.
Once you've made a few bucks your self esteem will skyrocket and nothing will stop you.

I remember my very first sale online. I made a whole $1.61! It wasn't much but I proved that I could do it and I never looked back. Never has there been a better time to exploit the internet and turn it into your own CASH MACHINE, but you gotta take that first step.

      Just Do It!

Now this is a workable plan that WILL work. I have used many variations of this style of prospecting for various services in the past.

Take action and your situation will improve. However, please don't think u r poor. You want to improve your personal financial circumstances but u r far far away from being poor.

Have to say 99% of what I read in your post has to do with your state of mind. Look at it from this perspective....you have nothing to loose.

I would start right from yuor finances take adeep breath and sort them out even before you think of looking at how to make money.

Don't jump on every new IM fad either and don't get caught up in the "this will bring you a 100,000 bucks a month by next week", that will make you poor.

Once you sort your finances out go look at the WSO's here and read through the comments in the threads there are viable techniques that can make you money, but the good thing with the WSO's they can guide you in terms of techniques that work.

Out of curiosity anyone hear not have this life needing end all be al lgoal of being a millionaire? I am not knocking building abizz and money etc..it...but it's kind of not my life's ambition and number one concern.

Mortgage free, $100K+ p.a........ish...free time and enjoyment and MOST OF ALL GOOD health for me and my family is much more of a concern to me. I just see so many people sayng things like "boo, hoo i am only making $100k p.a. and Gurua XYZ makes $3m a year....I am so unhappy."

Maybe it's just me...:-( I agree being poor isn't fun. But my guess being a millionaire maybe isn't the end all and be all of life either.

Just think of these, there are a lot of people around the world who suffers poverty more than you do. They can't even afford to provide their basic needs. You are a thousand times luckier than them. It's just that how you handle your life, how you play with what you already have. Yes its true that money nowadays is powerful but don't let that thought get inside your mind coz at the end of the day, money alone won't let you survive.

Actually there's a lot of opportunity in order to earn money more than we need. We need to move and find it. Money is always there and our main task is to seek ways how to earn it.

I so appreciate this discussion! I just joined the WF and the War Room today. I'm a relative newbie, although I've been sort of playing at the edges of Internet Marketing for a while. (Bought a lot of products that promised the moon and didn't deliver, only to find myself buying MORE products of like ilk...)

Anyway, I am still a believer that the internet is the best place to create a business that brings in passive residual income and I still believe that if I keep applying myself, I will find my way.

I definitely believe that we get what we focus on and so, NavySeal, whenever you find yourself focusing on what you Don't Want, play a little game with yourself: as quickly as possible, think of at least five things you're grateful for. Others in this thread have pointed out some things you might want to consider, but it's always best for you to think of things on your own. Maybe it's something as simple as the sunset you saw yesterday or the smile of a friend or the letter from someone you love. I think you'll find (as I have) that your mood will lift and it will be easier to get back on a more positive track.

    Hope this helps.

    Navyseal,

I have been where you have been... more than once. Yeah, I've been lower than a snake's belly in a wagon rut.

But as long as I can see my feet in the morning, it's a good day.

And the good thing is, our emotions don't determine who we choose to be. Sure, I've got up feeling like a dried washrag hanging in the sink. But each new day brings a boatload of opportunity. Every new face is a possible contract... or friend.

As long as I keep getting up off the mat... as long as I continue to stick my hand out in greeting... as long as I never say die... I'll win.

Is there something driving you... pushing you ahead... moving you forward?

Or ar you looking at just what's near you... now?

Develop a plan and work at it every day.
    Failure is not an option.
Light a fire under your butt.
When I was struggling I put a sign on my computer "INSUFFICIENT FUNDS!"
To remind me of the anger and embarrassment I encountered a number of times when checking out at the store. That drove me forward in times of distress.

If you're poor and you keep stay there you will get used to it.
More hard it feels after rich and then became poor.

My short story " This is what I feel. I have 2 companies, finally everything is lost within a year,
my life became poor. From being the boss, There is no other option for me, Finally I worked into employees ,more worse then what you think,
But I've already set up my mindset I will rise again. took me 3 years to back"
The end of 2007 I rise again, now I have 4 employee and investing my money seperate. Thanks God,
What I do is meditation and dream of best life, for couple minute just make it strong my mindset. That help me a lot.
ofcourse I do work hard for everything.
Food not come to the table, Money not never fall from the sky.
Get out from being poor now, You the only one hold your success.

      Hi. My name is Briana.

You are all right with what you said.

About being broke and poor. It is just a state of mind. It is when you give up, stop doing things that will improve your financial status is what will get you stuck in that idea. You, my friend, have the power to change your life.

I have seen my youth around my neighborhood. They used to be by-standers. Smoking, idle. But! One of these guys found a ray of light thru online jobs, SEO at that. Now, he helped his family. Bought stuff he never had before. He is just 16 years old yet he is successful.

So, my friend, get your butt out of there and shake that bootie!!! Go find yourself an internet cafe, invest, surf for online jobs. You are good to go.

Don't forget. BE PATIENT! Patience is a virtue. You don't expect money to simply rain down on you.

      Goodluck!

Being poor, and being broke are two completely different things. Being broke, is really a state of mind in my opinion. If you dwell on the fact that you are struggling to make ends meet and that the world is crushing you from all sides, that can definitely push you down the road to being poor. Someone that is broke, in most cases, has some type of skill, knowledge, experience...etc, but has just hit a bad streak of luck. There is only 1 system that is 100% infallible to fix being broke, and that is the overwhelming desire to change one's condition no matter the cost. I've known broke before. I was 24 years old, with a decent job, decent car and decent life, but no real opportunity to become the person i knew i could be. So i made the choice to move all the way across the country, with only my little brother in tow, to get a fresh start. Well guess what, i went the first five months without being able to find a job. I was flat broke, had rent to pay, a car payment to make and little if any income. I was making $0, but i wasn't poor. Why, was i not poor? Because i would do anything to change my situation, i was never willing to settle for my circumstances.

If you don't want to be broke any longer, you need to make a commitment to yourself to change it. The only way that works though is to 100% dedicate yourself to improving your life. That means stop feeling sorry for yourself, and knuckle up. Dedicate yourself to changing things. Succeeding in life comes from perseverance.
