Cold Calling question

I have my list of 500 leads from Manta under this criteria:

no franchise
1-5 employees
50k-1.5 mil sales

All in my city. I will call 100 daily between 8-10 am this week.

What kind of script do you suggest? The traditional John Durham , lead with the website then go SEO. Or, offer free iframe FB pages to get in the door. My guy does these for $25 so the numbers would work out.

Just curious as to which approach I should take.

Thanks,
Chris

Offer the free FB page, when talking to them call it the Facebook Business Hub, and tell them that it exposes their business and allows it to connect with current and new customers on social networks which could mean greater recognition of their business in their local area.

Ultimately, this free FB page serves to make them more money in the long run, and then offer maintenance of that and a free website for that with SEO services for a lump monthly fee. It packs on the value and they jizz in their pants thinking an angel from heaven descended upon them from the sky.

    Instant ATM machine.

That is a pretty good list, and under 50k you are going to run into people that are looking for "quick" ideas. Call with the concept, and stick to that - "I create effective webs" or something more of an umbrella. If you want to "hook" them, use that after they are qualified as interested in what you are saying. Most will just do fluff talk and even go for an appointment - but without any kind of commitment. Have them qualified before you make free offers; hook the interest first, hook the offers, then sink the hook in with a call to action.

Qualifying can be as simple as "what's your performance like on the net?"
"How well is the web performing for YOU"
"What would it take to get ten new customers this month?"

Leading questions like that. Then as they prompt you, mention the web design, traffic and all that PLUS putting them on the Social Web taking advantage of a whole new segment using iFrames!

      Something like that.

As for closing on the phone, you can use a form to be filled out asking for a proposal, but assume they want it, and push forward....

      "
What email do I need to put down for this....
do I need to send this analysis/proposal to you or address to anyone else?
I see your website is at www.XXXXXXXXX.com is that correct?
(had to edit this - I had no idea that this link would be active, but apparently its for sale, LOL)
I notice some keywords that you are using are ________ are they any that you think are more inclined to attract your favorite kind of customer?
Have you ever considered using multiple URL's and micro sites?
      "

So on. Make a form that can easily translate into a general proposal and push them to answer the questions, that you will turn into a proposal and send that in or show up in person to deliver it.

      So, classic introductions
Create a sense of time constraint "I'm only going to take a moment here...."
The reason you are calling "I'm a web consultant here in town, and I notice people like you can really use....."

That will usually get a conversation going or lead to a dead call - no biggie just schedule to call in a few weeks.

      Qualify their needs and wants.
      BRIEF feature, benefit, advantage statements
call to action (fill out a form or quote, get an appointment, or figure out a way to take orders on the phone)

That would be one skeleton, really just to spark your imagination. You can of course be as creative as you like in my opinion.

I don't do that. I lead with "customers". Hey there Mr Business owner, how are you doing on customers? Can you use more customers? Can you use more business?

Are you near a computer? Go to Google a type "dentist austin" see that guy at #1 position? I did that for him and he's been kicking ass. Do you see the value it that? Would you like me to do that for you?

    Roll Tide,

I went to ALABAMA...so ROLL TIDE my friend!

Now, we do extensive cold calling....one of the absolute best

ways to get in the door is by conducting an "interview"

So you can find out, where they're spending their money,

what they're happy with, and what they are willing to try.

Once you know that, you can offer them ANYTHING.

    Hope this helps..

    Don't call at all!

If they are that close to you, show up in person - it's a much better impression!

      Start with a presumption:

"Hiya, I suppose you're already getting a lot of clients from your website, is that a fair assumption?"

      or

"When you last looked at your statistics and checked where your customers were coming from, how many were from the web?"

Usually the reply is something along the lines of "Errrm, stats?"

So you can dive in with "You are measuring your stats aren't you?" or "You do have a website don't you?" or "You are doing online marketing aren't you?"

Then just open up a whole world of pain for them.

"So you're not really sure if your website is working for you?"

      And then:

"Is it worth me popping round to see if there's anything I can do to help?"

      Stuff like that.

Never send a proposal, never send a quote - get a meeting, go chat with them, get them to sign up or walk away.

        Then:

"What RESULTS are you getting from those clients? Were you hoping for BETTER results?"

Let them tell you what results they thought they were going to get .... then you say: "I can achieve those results for you. When would you like to meet?"

Business people don't care how you get the results (more clients, bigger profits) just as long as you bring in far more money than they have to pay out to you.
