Looks like google is no longer offering Tags for local listings. Boost is the new thing now.

Did you implement Tags for your clients? If so, what will you do now?

    Yeah I just got that email...

    I liked tags because it was only $25 and I saw a jump in more views/calls for my clients.

    I don't boost at all so now I have to look into it more :S

      Yeah, I really liked tags too. Only $25 bucks for some extra eye candy in the SERPS.

      Oh well, I'm on the hunt for something else too.

    no more tags? damn. i haven't been offering it yet but i was looking forward to doing so as they seem to be a low cost easily implemented edition that would create more value for my customers. have to checkout Boost.

      Boost is basically adwords for google places.

    They considered TAGS a trial feature, apparently. It appears they really like to change G Places around a lot.

    Yeah - one of my company's clients just got the email and forwarded it to us (they've been doing their own 'Place' work - that's not what we do). BUT we are expected to know everything, anyway - so I guess we are going to have to look at boost too. But if it's basically adwords for Places, I think we'll advise them to save their money. And we'll figure out some way around all the spammy stuff that comes with adwords.

    Also, on a related note, you guys should all sign up to Google Engage as well! They will give you free Adwords coupons that you can use for your clients.

    At this point, I feel like Places is never going to become a "static" format. They always claim it is testing in the different data centers, but I'm wondering what the big G's ULTIMATE END GAME is for Local. It should be an interesting ride...
