Call Tracking Service

I had a few clients ask whether it is possible to track the calls that are coming in from their SEO listings. I'm thinking I could set up some kind of forwarding # but I'm wondering if their is something I can use online to track the phone call when someone calls him from his SEO listing.

    Yes, there is a service out there somewhere, If only I could rememvber the name of it...

    Anyway, how it works is, you get a different phone number for each product/keyword phrase page. When the call phones that the clients switchboard will then know which page their caller is looking at. The operators can then look at the same page and know which 'script' to follow.

    Is this the sort of thing you were thinking of? If so, I'll have a look back through my files and see what I can find for you.

      In the "old days" we used to use different names in each ad. In one ad, it would say, "Ask for Mary" and the next one would say, "Ask for Joe" etc. Based on who they asked for, we'd know where the call came from. Now we use different phone numbers and/or email addresses, similar to what you suggest. Gotta love progress!

        This certainly seems to be the lowest cost service. It would be even more economical if they offered a base plan that only included the tracking and not recording the phone calls. For a small business where the owner there is one phone number to the owner who is answer the calls (in my case a floor business where it's the cell phone of the owner) then recording is a waste. Then issue comes up in trying to separate out what I do in order to get substantial bonuses for conversions that provably coming from seo, facebook, twitter, etc. rather than Google boost, or Service Magic, etc.

          You can track the calls coming from PPC and SEO using call tracking. A small snippet of code is placed on your client site and when a prospect clicks through the number will change and be allocated to them. When they call, you have their data - time, date, number of rings and duration of call and of course ad source. You can integrate with Google Analytics too.

    You would need to use a dynamic phone number insertion system to track inbound phone calls that come through organic search channels.

    At its simplest level you could assign a unique phone number for each one of the following: Google Organic, Yahoo Organic and Bing. You would need to install custom JavaScript which would replace the site's default phone number with the trackable telephone number. When the visitor calls the call is recorded and stored in a database that would allow you to then match the visitor's session with the phone call. The same concept may be leveraged to do SEO keyword level tracking.

          Does Adinsight have any special deals for warriors ?. What is the cost of setting up this service for our clients in the UK. Does your service integrate with admob?
