Outsourcing client acquisition?

Hi guys,

Im looking to break into a different geographic area, different country etc. Has anyone had any luck finding decent sales reps? Preferably to work on very generous commission?
I have tried CL but with very little luck.

A different COUNTRY? Yikes, good luck with that one. It is hard enough getting them on board via multiple face to face meetings in many cases IMO, and this is reflected in the stories I read from other warriors around the globe here in this subforum.

If you're looking to do that, why not just setup shop on elance or somewhere and work strictly virtually with people all over? Just curious what exactly you plan on doing by going this route I guess....

Well, I provide quality services. Services that IMO small businesses need. This is, of course, what many people here offer, but my main issue is that I want to expand. Not only that, but I live in Europe and the getting clients on board, especially where I live, is like pulling teeth. Social media has not hit business owners yet. I have tried to educate SB owners, but when I do make a sale, the pricing is ridiculously low. I would say that we are a couple years behind when it comes to social media, GPlaces etc. This is best illustrated by the recently #1 search engine, which is soooo outdated, bad, crawls like 1x or 2x a year. Yet people still use it. For super competitive keywords, this SE can even spit out a blog post from 2006 which has no meaning whatsoever.

So, getting clients is proving not financially rewarding enough. I mean, there TREMENDOUS potential here, and if I could position myself to be the "innovator" it would be great within a year. But I would like to help businesses that are ready to expand their Internet presence.

I had been looking at resumes on CL and a lot of people are looking to pay the bills. There are a few problems for both me and them:
    - I offer commission only. Especially if I dont know them, cant track their efforts etc., I dont want to pay by the Hr.
    - They see me as being a foreigner = scammer.

My commission are very generous though. I mean, especially for a person in need, this could be a great opportunity. But, dont want to sound bad, but I also need someone that would represent me well enough, hence the high commissions.

    Cheers

If you want to work in other countries. Then treat yourself as your customer. Run some marketing campaigns in cities you want to work in. You will miss out on the face to face but if you price yourself lower than the local competition, you could get some clients.

Hmm, wondering which country you live in in Europe, can't say that we are lacking behind!

Which areas are you focusing at? Is it also different languages? Do you really need sales people?

Why not run internet adds targeted at a specific country? Special offerings, special pricing? It's even better to find a local company where you can partner with then local freelance sales people!!

Personally I don't believe in sales people that are not on your payroll. They try for a month if they don't make a quick buck they are gone. Sometimes even hurting your business because they treated you potential clients terrible!

I have no problems with providing training, the client gets a lot more than what they are paying for.

The main problem I have is convincing the owners they need what I provide. I have a booklet I give them, but they just dont understand the importance of a webpage, let alone an internet optimized one. Google Places? Never heard of it. And the ones that do have a webpage and dont generate any revenue through it obviously do not see the need of mobile optimization.

It just gets tiresome trying to educate people that, it seems, do not want to learn. Its seriously like pulling teeth and I feel like my time would be better spent working with owners that see the value and appreciate my services.

That being said, I am not looking forward to not dealing with clients face 2 face and that puts another log under my feet. Not to sounds like I only have excuses, the number of mobile devices in this country outnumbers the populations and the lifespan of a phones is half a year. So obviously this market tree is just screaming for someone to grab all the fruit.

Maybe my approach is bad: I have provided a couple free services, got a number of potential clients through their referrals, but even the referrals are hesitant to say the least. Have placed an ad in a paper with very little response. My email campaign had had a very low open ratio. Walking in and talking to the owners is pretty much the only way I get clients, but the sell/talk ratio is still very low.

So I was thinking, there must be people out there looking to make a $100, $200 or even more $ commission on selling these products and services. What is the best way of searching for the right person online?

    Cheers

One simple method to make them hired you is:
Is to ask them o you want to make MONEY?
If answer is YES. - Hired me, and i shall deliver the result.
If answer is NOT yes or excuses - just said, thank you and shall you need my assistance in the future, you will know where to find me. Drop them 1-2pages of report you jammed pack all the info into. ( Try to search an article from newspaper/magazine on SBO can benefit from seo or some article related to their industry - negatively or positively). The fact is: the more negative the better - if you use it as an opener but at this stage try to find the top dog in their industry.

Btw, don't ever make up those figure. SBO are not stupid for some reason, after all they are much clever than the majority population that working for people right now.

Just curious, what is your conversion rate per client?
