Pinging GP Listing?

Google seems to take an age to pick up on citations and changes to GP listings in the UK.

So....does anyone actually ping and bookmark their GP listing/citations and does this seem to have any effect?

      Pinging with pingler.com used to work for me. I don't know if it still does.

      I helped a young, struggling entrepreneur for free. We created a GPlaces listing and I pinged it. Next day it was no. A for one of his keywords, and C-D for others. He's in a very uncompetitive market though.

      With that said, did my pinging get his Places page up there or does Google now crawl the Places pages faster?

      I haven't tried bookmarking though.
