This could cause you a TON of problems. If the listings that don't have the correct address/details don't have a lot of citations or rank in google, just delete them. Then build tons of citations with the correct name, address, and phone

Thanks for the address. Generally this is what I've been doing for the past few days. However, I believe another of my main problem is that the on-site SEO is terrible.

You will have to put some "hooks" so that Google can link your website to your Place page. These include:

        - mentioning of the address + phone number on at least one place on every page, the best would be in the footer
        - same in the contact us page, they should be structured and ordered the same way as on the Place page
        - embed the map of your Place on your website
        - create a KML sitemap

For the other problem check the next rows.

Building citations, although helping to stabilize the position of the listing, does not help in linking the website with the Place page.

This will solve the problem only temporarily. You will have to go and rectify the address/phone number everywhere it is mistaken.

Hi there, thanks for your input. I will give your suggestion a go. However, this is my first client and the web designer hired by him did a really messy job.

I'm trying to talk them into getting a new site. Is a new site gonna help or make things worst for this case?

It depends on so many factors that it is really difficult to give a proper suggestion on that one. I'd rather work on what is there currently, then start from scratch, as their site has already some established reputation + is linked in many places to their business information (I guess).

P.S. I'd report the patriciasimmons comment (I did it already btw).

Makes sense. Honestly, I'm having some trouble with clients these days, most of them have sites which they do not have control of which are no properly on site optimised and they are very reluctant to spend on anything web related. On top of that, they have to pay just to edit the site, it's just sad.

Well, while waiting for them to get the access to the site, looks like im still stuck with citation submission.

              P.S. Reported as well

I sent you the list of citations that you can manually submit too or outsource.

Hey Charlie, I've recieved it. It's wonderful! Thanks for your help. However, may I ask, are these citations mainly used for within the US or are they able to use from any country?

I believe they are mostly for the U.S. But some are global. You may try and submit to some of them and see if they are suitable for your region.

If they contain your region as a category you know they will work
