I need a range of successful prices to offer businesses in the SEO area as far as offline marketing goes.

I have talked with a few and all are interested in SEO but I'm unsure on what to charge. I know I will be charging a monthly deal because SEO takes time and constant effort to maintain rankings.

Hi prestige, depending on the keyowrd difficulty and the urgency for getting top results, I charge anywhere from $500 - $1500 per month for SEO. I do not do all the work so I always figure in outsourcing costs. There are tons of outsourcers here in the forum and they have different packages. I have typically gauged my fees after reviewing the packages neccessary to get the results my clients are lloking for. Most local businesses could be taken care of for $500-$750 per month and still leave a nice profit 65-75% for you.

Zack, thanks for the response and the figures. I haven't really dealt much with the offline area because I didn't want to bombard myself with a lot of work and deliver the goods and so wasn't sure what to charge. I haven't thought to charge that much. I was looking to charge around $200 to $300 a month but looking at the difficulty of the keywords and rankings should definitely be considered. thanks!!!

I was wondering if there are different packages you would offer them and allow them to choose? Just a thought that came to me when reading your comment.

There are no generic prices. The difficulty of the keywords in your market and the amount you wish to be compensated for your time will be the deciding factors. Nobody can answer that for you.

Plus, and this is not directed at any answers in this thread just a general observation, I get a good laugh at the ridiculous numbers that are frequently thrown around on this board.

Prices would be irrelevant without mentioning the keywords and the city which I won't do. I can say as a range that it is $100 to $500 recurring, but that means absolutely nothing with the context of the competition analysis.

As an approach, look at the competition, create a plan to get to the top, estimate how much time and money would be involved, then price for a profit that will make you happy. Nobody here can tell you how much payment you require for your time to make you happy.

But whatever you charge, you have to also be able to explain to the business owner that by spending XXX dollars a month, they will get an increase of XX customers. If you cannot accurately quantify the return, you won't last long in this business.

Do any of you ever take on clients with a limited budget? Ones who have just started their business for example and think your quote is too high? What do you do to ensure you don't lose them?

Yeah, I have a "small business package" that I offer to clients on a tight budget. $250/month w/a 3 month commitment. It's intended for low-medium sized keywords.

My advice is when marketing to clients that have small budgets is to throw in a "freebie" on top of the SEO package like complimentary promotional video or press release. A $10 out of pocket expense for you can easily land you another $250/month (recurring income) or more. It's all about their perception of value.

It's not about how much to charge - it's about how much do you want to make for your services. Starting with that first lets you be in control of your own destiny. You know that you are providing a valuable service, so stand behind your pricing and you should do just fine!

    One word answer: More.

Seriously, you should have tiered packages- silver, gold, platinum. Decide what you want to include for what price, what you're willing to do at a certain price and set that as your silver. Then add more for the gold and more for the platinum.

I wouldn't back out of my driveway for less than $1000 a month for a client--and I'd have to really like them and have an easy job that didn't entail too much. So make the silver $1000, the gold $2000, and the platinum $5000. have some options a la carte too so you can work a little on price.

I offer several different packages including DIY consultation for small businesses or those with tight budgets. I charge $150 for monthly consultation and advice. After that the prices go up incrementally as the involvement increases.

Wow, so many people with low prices here! It's all about perceived value, and if they can afford it. I've put together custom plans before for Personal Injury Lawyers for $2500 a month before, even had a few $4k a month options

I've also done chiripractors at just $500 a month because they were local and not in a crazy competitive market.

Depends on the location, the VALUE (one personal injury claim can net over half a million if it's a good one), and the industry.

I have worked with a lot of SEO clients and my price will depend on their budget. But I don't just deal with low budget of course.

Anywhere from $500 to $10,000 a month. Perceived value is key. I have offered a special to warriors though for non competitive niches for $300/mo. Anything offline though, I typically go for $1,000 minimum.

The prices of SEO are depends on site to site. If the sites contains keywords having high competition, then the prices for SEO are also high and the prices are also depends on the seo profiles. The branded SEO companies have set high price........

As well as what others have said above it would also depend on how many kewords the client want you to rank for them.

No standard price ... A lot of factors to consider. Competition, Niche etc ...

I always try to set pricing based on customer value. The more each new customer is to that client, I can justify a higher price.
