Article marketing has been in the business for quite some time most and it is one of the most effective ways in driving traffic to your business site. The best thing about it, you don't have to pay anything to market your product or service. Basically it's just writing an article and submitting it to the article directories with a little bit of twist.

These are my suggestions to have an effective market strategy:

Keywords - Always avoid broad terms like poker, sports, weight loss, writing and others because it's going to take years for your site to rank up in search engines. Also people who use these words do not have an idea on what they are looking for in the internet. Target at least two long tail keywords, meaning be more specific because you have greater chances in optimizing your website. When I say greater chances meaning you have less competition, you can check your keywords using Google keyword tool and make sure those long tail keywords have at least 2000 monthly searches worldwide. Also make sure that it's relevant to the product or service that you are marketing.

Back linking - On your article please provide the long tail keywords in the content because this will be your bridge for linking your website.

Content - Never ever create articles just for back links; write it because you want to provide information to the customer about what you are marketing. It's better to have a timeless article which is informative than nothing.

Resource box - Under these part also provide the link to your website because once they click that link it builds up traffic to your site.

Social Bookmarking - Once you have submitted your article please don't forget to bookmark on social bookmarking sites, because it can drastically change the search engine rankings.

Never be satisfied to submit only 5-10 articles, make it a habit to at least create 1 article per day for about 2-4 months. Remember you are not the only doing these thousands of people are also on to this way of marketing their business. Re-write articles if you're not good at it, just have that quality and everything will go smoothly.
