I am getting my mobile website business going but I still work a full-time job.

Is anyone having success with emails?

I was thinking of sending emails and using LinkedIn and than following up with phone calls.

I will look into direct mail as soon as I start making money.


Any other suggestions?

      Hey...New Guy! The "MAIN REASON WHY"....us, "In-Person" Sales guys ARE succeeding at most ANY "OffLine Sales" (Including Mobile-Stuff)... is because "WE" do the following;

      Go to "IPhoneTester.com" and plug in our "Target's" website (eg: Dentist Website) and discover the website the dentist has spent BIG Buckoos on....does NOT show up on a MOBILE PHONE!

      Note: Their site DOES show on a Mobile Device BUT....only a small portion of their site can be SEEN on the SMALL SCREEN. To find what's on the ENTIRE Page....the Mobile Phone user must SCROLL....right.... down... etc... to SEE the ENTIRE Page!

      Note: "Marketing Pros" call this...."Losing The Audience because...it TAKES TOO MUCH EFFORT and TIME....to "Scroll About"!

      Note: "US" Marketing Guys know that the average consumer does NOT want to...."Hurry Up and WAIT!" (Reminds me of my time in Basic-Training in the Service; The Slogan was: Hurry Up and WAIT!" and...while I'm at it, there's another slogan we heard at this time, from our Drill Instructor while we were waiting in line; "OK! Smoke Em, If You Got Em!"

      When "us" In-Person Sales Guys Print-Out what we see on IPhoneTester.com ..... and....also show an example of what their website COULD look like.....we cause our potential customer to "Roll His Eyes Back" and declare: "WOWEE! HOW CAN I....GET MY SITE TO SHOW ON "MOBILE DEVICE SCREENS?"

      So...."US" In-Person....Direct-Sales guys are able to;
      1) GRAB the attention of the "Check-Writer"
      2) Show him what we can do fo him
      3) Get his Agreement to PAY US our fee

      ...and all it cost us was....a few cents in Ink for our InkJet Printer...a couple of bux in Gas and....20 to 30 mins in our Time!

      So....NewGuy....you can spend LOTS of moolah on;
      Sending emails
      Sending Postcards
      Making HUNDREDS of phone calls
      ....to your Target Maket

      BUT....nothing....GETS YOUR TARGET MARKET'S ATTENTION....BETTER... that a PERSONAL MEETING!....where your prospect can SEE....that YOU are a "Nice-Looking" young man....who appears to be "Trust-Worthy".....passionate about what you are trying to sell....then....he "settles down" and then....SERIOUSLY begins to consider what you are offering....and....if you can SHOW (evidence)....what his present website looks like on a Mobile Phone and....how little ol' you can ... MAKE THE "KEY INFO" ON HIS SITE SHOW on Mobile Devices and... you're only charging "X$"!

      GUESS WHAT!....HE BUYS!

      So...thanks for letting me "spew out" how I've sold my stuff over the years. I started out in the "Sales-Marketing" biz by thinking, "Hey! I'll just mail out a bunch of letters (PostCards, Emails, Text Messages, etc) and ...
      ...SOME OF IT'S GOTTA STICK!"

      Well....that "Marketing Method" can work for those who have a "Big Bank Account" to draw upon. US...Marketing Guys would rather "use our Brains rather than Bucks"....to get BETTER results!

    You can use email to do this, but I have to agree with midasman... The power of mobile marketing is huge and most business owners are most easily sold when you can actually demonstrate it live. Now, I know from experience that most offliners consider it a scary thing to go out and "cold call" so you can use email, but don't expect a huge response. That said, here is a trick I learned recently...

    Go and build a simple squeeze page for the business you want to target, pick a niche, (i.e. Mexican Restaurants in Denver) and don't brand the squeeze page. Simply make it look appealing and give them a reason to opt-in (for a mexican restaurant - put get a free margarita next time you visit). Do it from the customer's perspective and send it to the prospect - send it to every mexican restaurant in Denver (in this example). Here is the important part. When they opt-in (for text or email), create an autoresponse sequence that sells for you. Here would be one:

    "Hi [name],
    Do you see how effective it is to be able to reach out to your customers automatically? What you are reading right now is an exact example of the power of this type of direct marketing... Your repeat cutomers are worth 40% more and cost a lot less to bring in your door. Did you know that you can quickly grow your business by 20% this month without breaking the bank. Imagine being able to use this exact technology with a fast, turn-key solution that is both easy to implement and more than pays for itself. Simply reply to this message or call me at 555-5555 and we will discuss it."

    This type of method will give them an exact demonstration of how it works without having to cold call. That said, you will still get better results with a live demonstration. I personally hate individual cold-calling and opt for putting on "mini-seminars" and draw them all in together.

    You can use this simple email/indirect method, and if you do it right, you can sell it to multiple businesses in the same niche in the same city, as you are ultimately selling a loyalty program that does not compete with the other businesses, as a new customer acquisition program would... I hope that helps.

    I've found that cold calling over the phone and setting an appointment works best for me. I haven't found much success at all with only e-mails.

    LinkedIn, on the other hand, can be a great source to contact prospects. Again though, you will want to follow up with a phone call. If you try to do everything electronically it can be difficult to get new clients.

        I agree with Don...

        You email subject line is the MOST important thing in getting your emails opened!

        So it has to be something that will pique their interest.

        I have had a lot of luck getting clients with email...

        In addition to getting the subject line right, you have to send out ENOUGH emails... the more the better since it takes more of them to generate a response.

        It's all a numbers game...

    Create a site for a high traffic business in your area.... fast food, dentist, coffee shop, etc. Go to that business and show them the site on your phone, explain how by letting you put a 5x7 upright plastic tray with the qr code on their counter, their customers can take their menu/website with them on their phone. Offer to give them the site for free, in exchange for placing the tray on the counter. Make sure you have YOUR website name on the bottom of the card (in the tray), and a link to YOUR website at the bottom of the site you're giving away. Knowing that you're going to give the site away for free takes most of the apprehension away when going in to talk to them. Now, you have some FREE advertising for your service.

    This isn't just theory, it's something that has worked for me, time and time again. And, I have a full time job too! So, I'm sure you can find a fast food place that's open on your "off" hours. Go try it!!

    That's a good idea, email marketing helps a lot as well as having sales call. And perhaps you could also add social network to help you out spread the word. Social network has helped me a lot in getting my target market as well as email marketing. You can do it! Good Luck!
