Google Places Support Thread

Given googles pretty terrible support for bugs and issues with google places... Figured (as problem solvers for a living,) we could start our own support thread for known issues and solutions and potentially save some frustration and headaches.

(Basically the only support available for google places is forum with poor moderation and is a crapshoot whether or not you'll get a direct answer from someone qualified, or an answer at all for that matter.)

Find the place that the data came from by looking for a link or reference from where the information was supplied.

In general make sure that your listings N.A.P. are consistent across yellowpages, superpages, insider pages, inofusa, acxiom, getlisted.org, (any other places im leaving out?)

Basically google is superslow with updates so even if you manually delete each duplicate, edit the source where the info was pulled from, and "report a problem" for each duplicate listing... just standby to standby... unfortunately. Who knows how long it will take for listings to update.
