Video Posting & Linking

Hello, I'm pretty new but have been lurking and reading for a while.

I'm wondering if anyone has any guidance on how to use videos with descriptions and tags to promote a central site. The thought being posting the video to many sites with title, description, and tags covering keywords. I'm not sure on some specifics like if the description should have the main site URL in it or not. Just looking for some good guidelines. I've searched and read a lot on the forums, even purchased a few WSOs (that are OTW), but I still haven't quite found what I'm looking for. Maybe because it's not a sound strategy.

Any feedback is appreciated. Thank you for your time.

You can use PixelPipe to share the videos to different places, is that what you're looking for?

Personally. I would upload the video to youTube or vimeo. Put an extremely rich description on it with tags and links (or put it on your site with all of that jazz, and nothing on youtube), then linking it all over the show. The traffic will come into the youtube page, and get funneled through the links in the description back to you.

It's a great promotional tool, because you get the youtube profile page, in addition to the link on the page, and people will share it because its so easy on youtube.

I love the way the guys at SEOmoz do this: seomoz.org/blog/yes-you-really-can-build-links-with-twitter (can't post links yet)

Black button, bottom of their post that says 'Thanks' ... I generally Thank them, before I quote and comment... it's good Netiquite.

Thanks DrPaul. I think you have to have at least 5 posts before it shows up. It just mysteriously showed up.
