QR Codes in The UK

Was just wondering how many people on here in the uk that are selling mobile websites and selling QR codes services with them.

Also how big do you think QR codes are in the UK, I looked through the sun newspaper and could not find one at all.

    Hey Komrad QR codes are growing in the UK, Im seeing them in a lot of papers, on many promo materials ,packaging and magazines.

    Now theyre not being used that well at the moment but they are certainly being used

    And yes I sell mobile to businesses amongst other things

      I was also wondering about this, having not pitched this to anyone yet, however noticed Bulmers are printing QR codes on their new 'No.17' bottles, with the tagline "Join the experiment" (The experiment being their new flavour). I was thinking of including that as an example when pitching to businesses, and using a similar tagline to encourage people to actually scan the code since market penetration doesn't seem that high for QR codes yet in the UK.

    Well its good to know that there actually being used more here, just there are loads of threads about mobile websites with QR codes but all seem to be based in the US. Thanks for your answers guys.

    I am looking into this also, at the moment QR codes seem a bit "novelty-ish" but apparently they've been huge and used loads over in Japan.

    They could be a good "hook" to seal a deal with potential clients if you can convince them that a QR code linking to a mobile ready version of their site would greatly enhance their print marketing campaigns.

    I have seen loads of examples of clever marketing using QR codes, you just gotta get creative.

      Yes I have and that I saw it in a newspaper, it was for a trailer for a film. But the reason I made this thread was because I was looking through the sun the other day and didn't see any. I would have thought companies that have the money to advertise in the sun would be capitalising on it.

        I saw one on a Krav Maga poster in Pizza Gogo in Basingstoke. I scanned it while someone looked on wondering what was going on.

        Subway have one on the back of their loyalty card. I haven't scanned that one yet.

        If I have learnt anything from the above.. I think I need to work on my diet.

    Komrad it could be because The Sun is often pretty poor print quality and maybe the QR codes werent always usable if they were in there.

    IMO they should get sponsors for page 3 to have QR code on their bodies linking to wherever
