UPDATE: I took this list and turned it into a PDF. You can grab your copy at the bottom of this first post.

I want to compile an extensive list of helpful resources for us offliners. Let's help each other out by adding to this list if you have something that will be helpful. Please post the resource and if it isn't obvious, what the resource is. NO AFFILIATE LINKS.

From time to time I'll go back and edit this first post with the info from everyone's posts below. This way it will be easy to find and you won't have to scroll throughout this thread.

Eventually I'll create a PDF and post it. Want to get a big list first so I don't have to go back and update the PDF and then you'll be without the most up to date version.

**Use at your own risk. I am not claiming to have used everything listed below. Some of the sites/services listed may be horrible or they may be great. I don't know for sure about every single one.

WHMCS It is a billing software. It's self hosted and if you have a reseller account with Hostgator, a free license is included.

    Hello,

Excellent idea for compiling the list!

I'd like to recommend the TrueKat Show, here is the link: TrueKat Digital

Compare to Animoto it has a lot of benefits:

    - You are getting the result movie in real-time - there is no waiting at all. It is easy to tweak the text, the look and the speed of the presentation. Everything is on the fly.
    - There is no monthly or yearly fees
    - TrueKat Show supports Full HD export and direct exporting to YouTube and Facebook
    - Movies can be exported with any aspect ratio: you can make square videos, very wide ones for banners - you can set your own resolution! Now beat that Animoto!
    - TrueKat is releasing new visual styles on a regular basis
    - You can choose the color and the look of the fonts for the text
    - You can make stereo 3D presentations. Now that there are a lot of stereo 3D TVs on the market it is a cool thing to do. You can even export stereo movies to YouTube since now it supports the stereo playback.
    - It is cheap!
    - Probably more but these are the things that jump right into my mind for now

You can check TrueKat samples here: Gallery . I have it so if you'll have any questions I'll be glad to answer them.

I also use 123 Print for the free shipping.

I know you said no affiliate links and this isn't but it might as well be so I'll make it short. My company offers routed phone numbers. I use them to track calls from my marketing materials. Direct mail pieces, website, local directories, emails etc. Helps you to put a real ROI with your marketing. Since you asked for no affiliates, I won't put the information here but if you're interested, feel free to PM me.

Excellent list by the way. Thanks.

I use Namecheap for my domains. If you have a website that is on shared hosting you are shooting yourself in the foot. I have a VPS on Liquidweb, they have excellent service!

I also make sure to do my homework on the business and find out what they have and need (for webdesign and marketing) essential to land the deal. Leaving with a check in your hand on the first visit is not only possible, but can be accomplished a majority of the time!

Terrific thread -- thanks for starting this, Vagabond!

I'd love to see (free) resources that help in analyzing/evaluating a client's website.

WebsiteGrader.com is one, for instance, but I know there are better ones out there. I've come across some in the past, but somehow lost track of them (that's why I'm loving this thread -- it's bookmarked and will always be handy!)

So... any suggestions for website analyzer resources?

        Thanks for the resource.

As for other ones, I personally don't know of any. I always just looked at the source code to look for obvious things.

I assume you want something so it can give you reports and such which will help in presenting? Maybe someone else will post something they know of.

I don't know if this one fits your criteria but it is worth a looksee:

          Open Site Explorer.

They have a paid version but I don't know you will want to pay the, I think, 99/mo. I am NOT an affiliate and I don't make a dime off the above site.

Somebody already mentioned alexa. They provide a lot of immediately useable data at no cost as well. Again, just my idea.

          Have a great day...
