Where to find list of ecommerce sites/businesses?

Where can I find a list of companies that sell products online? These should include small and medium ecommerce companies - K and M Music Stands For Guitars - Peak Folding Music Stands and Garbage Cans Trash Can Stainless Steel Trash Cans Decorative Wastebasket for example?

One thing I thought of was to search "powered by magento" or something along those lines, but more legitamit companies remove that tagline from their site.

        Hello Daniel,

The NAICS code for "Web Retailer" is [454111]. If you have access to hoovers or manta, you can use this information to find a list of companies.

If you don't have access to hoovers, let me know. I have an account with them and I can build you a small list if you would like. Shoot me a PM with some criteria you're interested in looking up. State, revenue, etc. I can put something together for you.

I was thinking this the other day too.

    Here was my idea:

    1. Get a list of local web companies that do ecommerce sites.
    2. Check their portfolios and create a list of sites they have done.
    3. Call all the ones that have issues and aren't on page one.
    4. Call and see if they need help getting on page one (or whatever your sales process is)...

Thanks I'll try that. One problem is many companies have ecommerce divisions, so their company would be in that naics, but in another one.

Looking for web retailers, not local businesses...

Thanks, that's a good idea, but a large list of web retailers would be nicer

    Daniel,
That's true. But if you focus on smaller companies based on revenue, you won't be dealing with larger corporations that have a ton of divisions.

So if you're looking at doing SEO work, maybe if you focus on companies between 150-250k for starters, that may get you some mom and pop operations that could benefit from SEO work, or mobile work, etc.

    That's just a thought.

    Good luck!

I meant a largest list of web retailers, not list of large web retailers.
