I am hosting an offline seminar for 40 individuals. It's a 8 hour "boot camp" type marketing deal.

I rented out a space in a popular hotel and have a luncheon/breakfast deal. 3 of my key speakers have backed out stating they weren't confident enough about speaking in front of a crowd just yet.

Where would you go to get some new speakers. 2 of my speakers were going to be done via satellite.

Any suggestions?

I think you started in a good place. I'm sure you may have some volunteers from right here in the WF that would be able to help you out whether it be locally or via satellite.

You could also try Meetup.com or your local speaker groups or networking groups.

    Best of everything to you.

That's where I went in the first place. Meetup.com. They were gung ho when they had the beer in them but now a week off and they are cold..

      Hey RepATX,

You could get busy searching the WSO forum for people with good, top selling products in those categories, pm them and see if they'd be interested in PRE-RECORDING a training session you can offer at your seminar. Agree upfront on the content, be sure it will serve your attendee's needs.

You've got to insure the quality and content of the presentations since you're going to be the one having to account for the show you put on. By pre-recording, you will know you won't be left hanging OR be at the mercy of last minute technical glitches.

If you really want the immediacy of a live presentation, you could always have your speakers appear by "remote" for q and a. Again, if something goes wrong, you better be prepared with a plan B.

You might also try your local Chamber of Commerce. Lots of them have speaker's bureaus listing experienced folks who are ready, willing and able to present well in public.

Is this paid or free? Pitch/ no pitch? What offer are you making to your speakers? Is your offer clear? Make sure the people you contact are able to see the value, otherwise, you may have difficulty finding great presenters.

      Good Luck,
      CP

Great suggestions here so far and I think you should create a new thread in the offline marketing thread ttitled something like: "I need 3 offline experts to speak at my bootcamp" or somthing like that.

Just make sure that you explain what you need and what is in it for them.

Also if they need to be local or via satellite etc.

I have done alot of live events for local business owners and had many people flake as well (not fun). That is why I do most of them myself.

Nothing against WSO's but I am not interested in implementing them or I'd just send everyone to the WSO forum, eh?

This is to be top not one on one hands on talk face to face to the people so they understand better and it's not a put it on the shelf until dire situation comes up. I am trying to teach and help others be savvy & learn better business ideas.

Perhaps you misunderstood what creative producer was trying to say.

You're looking for experts in the subjects you've promised to deliver on.

Well, what creative producer is suggesting is to contact these people who have created WSO's and ask if they'd be interested in stepping up to the plate to be a speaker.

If they've released a WSO you'd assume they have enough knowledge to speak to a bunch of business owners.. on top of which you know they're action takers since they've produced a product and are selling it.

Ask them to speak live via satellite opposed to recording something ahead of time if that is your hang up.

      Great suggestion creative!!
