YES!!!!!!! 1000000000000% YES. Craigslist is huge for me as well. I did exactly what you are considering and let me tell you it has helped a ton. Just make sure to get the prepaid that don't expire and your set for at least a year. I also agree, if someone cant make a decent chunk of change from craigslist then they need to find a way they can utilize it. It is literally a goldmine just waiting for us to prospect it. ( about 35% of my current income comes from craigslist and clients I got from it.)

That's what I thought: you have to have a contract phone, right?

There was a nice course early this spring about CL - commission overload. It was a good course I thought. Even though the guys who made it did not get along and split.

The main idea there was that you need to have several VPS servers in different cities and a lot of IPs...

wow I guess I had alot of misconceptions about posting CL ad's

I had thought the prepaid numbers alone would not be enough, and that you had to have a corresponding IP from the local area to keep from ad's being ghosted.

How are you getting 10 ad's per number, I thought the filters etc limited it to 1 ad every 48hrs per number.

I can get the numbers cheap, but dropped the idea because of not having local ips that match that area...

How many markets are those 50 ads spread across, if you don't mind me asking?

I haven't gotten back into CL, a couple of years ago when I was doing on-site computer repair on the side I had about five functioning PVA's that I got from verifying public pay phones. I wonder if that is still a viable tactic...

Hi, I'm new to the forums, but really glad I found this thread out of a million topics about Craigslist.

First off thank you for your willingness to help, and great information!

I want to start marketing my services in different cities... Nothing spammy, just useful services, and I thought the only way to do it would be to purchase a whole bunch of vps's for their IP's, buy some numbers that work, and remote into my own elite proxy every time I wanted to repost an ad.

So to be clear, you're saying I can use my own computer's IP, make a couple different accounts with my own phone numbers, and post 3 new ads a day per account- in any city?! I'm guessing you're up to 40 per day because you're reposting the ads that you already created, right?

What am I missing here?
This sounds really good, but hard to believe!

I just need to spin the article's and titles each time, right?

I also agree craigslist gives me great results i made over 1.5k last week on craigslist alone only posting 3 ads a day (the normal limit...) I could only imagine what I could do with 100 or so ads a day ::thinks about it, runs to store to get some prepaid phones::

You have to watch out for red flags. The scams are always going to be there, but eventually you learn which are scams and what is legit.

I have been trying to CL thing the last couple weeks but keep getting ghosted or ads being blocked. I have to email/phone accounts that I use.

What are you advertising? as web design seems way over saturated?

Here is an idea, if you are seriously interested in using craigslist you can outsource it. It is tedious and time consuming work to say the least. Pay someone on Fiverr $5 to created multiple craigslist adds for you for one week. Then you save time and money on prepaid phones.

I had slacked off a bit because I was getting some ghosting issues. Back in the hunt again after seeing these posts. Couple tips I was told CL has being watching for lately that was causing my problem - Some image ads, Symbols in title, Direct URL's - Use a link shortner like fur.ly

Direct URLs is not the problem unless your URL is banned in their system!

Posting times is also a factor, you can't post ads within a minute or two of each other.

So I have only been posting in my local area which fortunately I am on the border of 2 states. I want to position myself as a local guy that people can actually meet face to face the problem is my ads are not getting many click through s.

I posted 5 ads spilt between 2 states and only got 5 visits to my site any tips for track ad views so I can further test the problem?

And also do you guys delete all your ads each day and start over?

When you guys say you rake in the bacon using Craigslist, you're making that money posting ads for your offline marketing services? Or is it in other ways?

I know there are people offering to do the CL posting, but with the ghosting of ads how can one know if the outsourcer really did his job right?

BTW with Twilio you can get local numbers for $1 a month so it might be a better option than prepaid phones.

Sometimes it takes time to reap the results. I have noticed some cities are juicier than others. The interesting thing is, I have better luck in indianapolis than I do NYC. Better luck in Seattle than Miami.

I know that cell numbers work, but don't you have to be posting from a Local IP adress to make the ad not be ghosted?

say whaaaat ??? i was working CL last yr pretty hard, and even then we had to use geo proxies to post out side of our accepted ip address.

and if you think they don't geo your ip .... goto geo.craigslist.org/
it will take you right to the city your ip is authorized for.

btw. that works with a proxy too.

just put your proxy in your browser, then goto geo.craigslist.org/
that WILL be the area the proxy can post in, and most likely place
for you NOT to get ghosted, ( if you dont hit one of there other filters )

If you're in web design or SEO, I'm the ahole in all the cities posting in all caps 3 times a day LOL. I have used proxies for it before but you're sure to get ghosted if you aren't using premium proxies!

It is important to note, that they don't have a way to automatically check the IP to the city you're posting in! The geo.craigslist.org is something that happens so people get taken to their home city. It is a feature for it to be more user friendly, it isn't currently tied in with with spam or ghosting filters.

  You don't... He is just referring to the sections that don't require phone verification and is claiming it is because of proxies. When the truth is, most proxies don't get past craigslist.

Advertising a WSO on Craigslist? The possibilities are more wide open than I thought.

Oops. Seems Twilio wouldn't work. I have done very little in classified ads. I have used them mostly to hire sales reps and for the odd items for sale. I've heard that while you might garner interest, it mostly comes from people and businesses looking for the cheapest deals, and not good quality clients.

But it's hearsay in my case, I haven't tested it, so it's not like it's my unchangeable opinion, but it does make sense that a free site would draw a lot of cheap advertisers and deal seekers.

Again, I know there are people offering to do the CL posting so the cost might very well be worth it as it saves the time and money and hassle to get IPs and phones etc, but with the ghosting of ads how can one know if the outsourcer really did his job right?

Is there a WSO on how to get multiple ads posted on Craigslist? I read their tos and they only allow a post every 2 days.

I also have the WSO from Adam Maywald regarding his craigslist method, but it doesn't mention how to post multiple ads.

Here are a few ways. Im sure @ least one of them will get this post i do deleted.

A) buy good proxies, not in a data center as they are blocked before use.
( think grey to black ) ... actually to be brutally honest, in this case the blacker the better ....

B) buy one of those modems that you have to set up your self.
every time you change the mac, u get a diff ip ( this will only allow you to post regionally - for instance - im in Daytona. and i can post all the way to Miami. and down to the pan handle )

--- Side note: do not use Bizz class internet service.
i have bizz class. and i cannot post squat any where . i have to post using just "reg" internet service, if i'm not going to use a proxy

C) rent a bunch of vps. one or two per location that you want to post in
( this has the same disadvantages as using call center proxies )

D) use an onion router. if your patient and set it up properly
it will work .... complete pain in the ass to set up tho

E) make / buy PVA's. With a pva you should be able to post pretty much anywhere, as long as you don't get filtered

F) there is an auto poster out there ( google it ) it has a plug in ... that plug in comes with geo located proxies. you can manually post with it
--- last time i looked i think it was 150 bucks a week ( and it uses back connects )
a lot of people use it, its usually good for the first wk or two of the month
and as the month gets closer to the end... the harder it is for you to post

any one of those methods will allow you to post as much as you want.
the limitations are based on the amount of pva's and or proxies

if you use a combination of pva's AND proxies, you are pretty much unstoppable.

there is a TON and i mean a TON of easy money on CL.
and you don't have to be that smart to do it iether.

my partner an i made a killing off of them for almost 2 yrs.
all cpaTank stuff. enough that we were in the top 5 for cpaTank

we stopped just before Christmas last year, because a lot of people we new were getting cease and desist orders, and sued.
We did not want any art of that at all. SO, we moved on to greener pastures

we haven't touched it since.

I hope this has been a help, and now you don't need a wso on how to post.
Save your money, your gonna need it for pva's and proxies.

If you follow this advice you will not only lose out on all the money you spent but be extremely unhappy with the results.

Craigslist is not that difficult. If you're wanting to spam the hell out of it, you will get shut down, your PVA's will no longer work and you will be spending more money than what you will make.

I am a regular guy, and I use craigslist every day.. I don't go to these extremes and have been doing this successfully for a few years now. I'm against spamming, because it makes it worse for real advertisers. The only reason anyone would have to go through all that is if you are without a doubt doing something unethical.

Did I ever say you were spamming? Although everything you listed is what some spammer would probably do, and probably regurgitated from BHW, but kudos.

I just disagree with what you say, it is a sure fire way to waste time, energy and money and not break even. All I was saying, is that it isn't that difficult. It doesn't need to be that difficult!

I did, however say anyone that is doing that is likely to be doing unethical things. I don't think I was wrong in saying that since you said "we stopped just before Christmas last year, because a lot of people we new were getting cease and desist orders, and sued. " Obviously that wouldn't happen if it was all legit!

Way to break down different areas of my posts though, I appreciate that you care that much. If you take a look on craigslist, there are more than 20 cities, 40 cities in the US. There is a difference between spamming and advertising.

Look, I said if they follow your advice it isn't going to end well. Do you disagree with that? Do you think what you said is really going to help honest people here? This isn't a bl*ck hat forum. You even mentioned in your first post that you wouldn't be surprised if it got deleted. So please spare me this crap about you being discriminated against or some other line, when you admitted guilt yourself.

Trying to make myself look like an authority on this? Please... I have had people on this forum, personally calling me for certain things I have posted about. I already basically own a craigslist niche with making money online. I have 10 of 10 first page results... I don't need to establish myself as an authority to people on here. I do, however, want to help people steer clear from bad decisions and mistakes given by people who are giving bad information and opinions.

Sharing information is one thing, but I don't think this forum is about sharing information at all. I think this FORUM is more about helping and guiding fellow entrepreneurs. You are welcome to your own thoughts and opinions, just like I am welcome to go in a thread and try and stop people from making mistakes.

just so any CL posters are wondering I set up 6 ads in a couple differnent locals

using two accounts and I got a call this morning for what could be a big mobile site and web redesign project....the customers are out there!

Motivating me to keep posting today.

  So I read your comments, one would gather you have some experiences with Craiglist, how about breaking it down in simple step rules to follow inorder to operate with in a structure and not become a bad guy, most wanted spamer at Craig List.
  
  They should start a criminal file by the way and post it, the 10 most wanted spamers on the internet and their merry men.
  
  So keep us out of trobule now that you have opened up the door, keep theses people in line and provide that sturcture, how to post 30 times a day on craigslist

  Through the system I use (See my signature) it recommends disposable-numbers.com or you can call them at 800-24-6270 ...I am not an affililiate for them...$27 for 5 numbers.

YES, sales are sales! Craigslist is great. For those of you utilizing craigslist with success, now try to combine that with some adwords, and cold calling.. your results will be phenomenal. Marketing isn't just doing one thing... a great marketing plan compliments all the other things you are doing!

Oh there are many ways of pushing whitehat legit advertisements utilizing grey/BlueFart quantities. Where would this be categorized under? ;D/

Most craigsnoobs push out BH, or CPA offers - but thats only half the game and what they are doing is not legit. But what if you were pushing legit ads in higher frequency? hm

This thread is hilarious. While his advice maybe regurgitated - what he's saying for some serious CL marketing is the truth.

If you are a ball player that is ROI is 10x fold.
If you don't know then you wont make even.
If you are seriously using CL manually - well you are missing out real potential.

Think CL then think about this offline marketing forum section and what its talking about. BAM.

10k a month minimum.

How do I get Craigslist PvA accounts? And will this allow more postings?
Do you recommend more than one pva account?

It depends on how much you want to post. If you have a couple phone numbers you can use, that is good enough for MOST people. You can literally post 40 ads a day if you wanted per account but it just takes a while to get there. After a week of posting 3 ads a day you should be doing 20+ ads a day from that point all in one account if you do it the smart way.

I have actually purchased prepaid cell phones for $20 with phone time included in order to complete phone verification with craigslist. It has actually worked and is worth it, but I've since started outsourcing all of my CL posting. It's a lot less of a headache and worth the little bit of money that I spend on it.

Craigslist generates lots of traffic, it will be good to advertise there to get new business. But everyday they keep changing their filters and new stuff and then some of legit ads are being flagged for no reason is making life so difficult
