Ok so I have these three clients a pediatric doctor, a travel agency and a restaurant. Both the travel agency and doctor have no clients they want me to do the marketing for them but they want to have a sit down with me first. My question is what can I do for these two to get them results?

So far I've considered doing SEO, PPC advertising but other then that I'm still working on it.

As for the restaurant I'm going to setup a vip text club but they want a trial period. I'm just wondering what sort of trial period I should offer them I'd hate to spend 20 dollars and wait a month to have my hands empty. Let me know!

You have to do keyword research and see if you can rank them organically.

Then you also can do local SEO.

As for the restaurant use Twilio | Build Scalable Voice, VoIP and SMS Applications in the Cloud you get a $30.00 free credit upon registration.

    PPC will give instant results.

As for a trial period with the restaurant, don't do it. Get paid for everything you do, if necessary, offer specials and bonuses. A trial period is going to get you screwed, because it isn't going to help them during the first 2 weeks. Maybe after 6-8 weeks it would really be worth it for them but I seriously doubt a 1 or 2 week trial is going to do it. I'd suggest setting up a plan with what you can offer, and how to make the sms work for you.. include table tents, if they go for it, include free graphic design for the table tents and mark it up a bit. That way you have their customers attention and can legitimately make it work. Definitely no free trial.

Amen. Free trials never work out. Anything that can go wrong will go wrong.

Most successful restaurants have decent advertising budgets, many times this will be thousands per month. They need customers and exposure.

Your presentation MUST be geared toward showing them where they should be, the search volume for their type of business and how you intend to get them to the point that they can expect a steady stream of traffic to their website and therefore to their company.

Show them search results for both normal and mobile searches (Google Keyword Tool)
Show them their site on a mobile device or emulator, if they are not optimized for mobile.

Give them a reason to want to do business with you by showing them what THEY WANT, not what you want.

Let us know how it goes, good luck.

For the restaurant I'd barter to start... They want free service, get free food.

You can also promote using Social Networking methods. Just Develop Some pages in Social networking sites like facebook, Myspace, hi5, twitter etc .
And Upload the good pictures of the relevant sites.
This is one of the best advertising methods now a days.

Yeah you need to explain to them that your time is not free. And that they'll need more than a few weeks to see results.

I'd say you need to ask lots of questions and make sure you understand what they want you to do. Listening to their "pain" goes a long way in these settings. Don't promise more than you can deliver.

Are you only offering internet marketing solutions, or do you have plans to use offline marketing methods also?

As per many others who have replied - no to the free trial. Be confident enough to tell them that you are good enough and your results will speak for themselves - how would they like someone asking them for free food - just to try it out - I don't think so.

As for the marketing for the other two - is it just online or is it offline marketing as well. When you say they have "no" clients - are they both new businesses? What is your experience in both areas?

I had a seafood restaurant tell me they wanted a free trial so I told them I would consider it only if none of the other three in the area I was going to talk to didn't sign up. I left with a check.

I hope you don't mind but I'm going to use that response the next time someone asks for a trial of any kind.

Nice straight to the point response and a check...wow you gotta love this business.

I would go with video for all three and have a blast with it! Get a few FLIP cameras and
use your imagination. One YOUTUBE viral video blows away all other forms of advertising.
