Another Good Sign - Good Gift Card Idea for your clients...

The brilliance of this sign is in the fact that not too many would buy a $50 gift certificate but if it means something for me (people love shopping for themselves as much as others on xmas), I might spend a bit more!

Part of my ongoing search for good marketing ideas...Boston pizza is owned by an ex-canadian mountie/professional wrestler/dragon (not kidding)! These road signs are popping up all over town by the way and the companies that provide them are a joke! Tons of opportunity for smart marketers.

It is just because they are not market people AT ALL! Neither place has a website to get more info so you have to call and be grilled by the people that own the company (yes I mean GRILLED, not sold on the idea). Neither company operates the sign business as their main business and the one company's main business is headstones for the nearby cemetery. They know there is little competition and treat their customers as though they own the city (this is from my client's mouths that have dealt with them). The one good competitor that they had went out of business because he was not charging enough monthly service (typical prob in our economically depressed city).

As a business idea to you warriors, these places are charging $200/mn to place those signs (probably cost $200 to have a local welder make those up). So you can make up costs in one month of rental! The problem we have in our local areas are with the city sign ordinances. You can only display I think 45 days of 60 and have to pay an application fee for that. Also, if you have a movable type sign already, you cannot use these 'portable' signs.

<dimesaledotnet> Thanks, that is exactly what I am trying to show my offline customers. It's not all about the Internet. Most instant customers still come in off a well done street sign.

I have no agenda but to help those in the same situation. This I feel will pay the bills.

Good idea. Filing that one away for later. We all need to remember that not every great marketing concept is digital. To truly add value to our clients, we need to be masters of old and new school marketing.
