    Venus,

Yes! It is hindering SEO position of your keyword, search engines especially Google does not prefers sites that take time to load unless it is that relevant. Like if you have medical/health based website or legal based where you need to have many pages as you need to cover most of the sections related with your niche but a web development firm who are somewhere related to SEO too must not have these kind of problems. Try to reduce images or you can replace the HTML images with CSS, better will be if you will get your web pages analysis which provides recommendations too, there are many sites that provide this.

      Hi venus

When I had a problem with the loading speed with a website I'd designed for a client, I asked for help over in the website design section of the forum and I got some ideas to try which helped me.

Even the designers of the theme didn't come up with some of the ideas that I got from there!!!

    Thanks for all you suggestion.
But there are not so many images on my website.Beside this, I have compressed them for making the site Search engine friendly. Are there any other reasons for website loading speed except this.?

    1. Is your site created in HTML or as a Blog?
    2. Are you using any plug-ins?
    3. Do you use a caching system?
    4. Are you using any flash or java effects on your site?
    5. Do you have a background image?
    6. Are you sure your hosting company provides good performance?
    7. Do you utilize any counters, sliders, or other updating items on the site?

There are many, many factors which can contribute to site slowness, but without a lot more information, or seeing your site, it will be very difficult to answer your question.

If you are using WordPress, I'd start off by disabling all the plug-ins you are currently using and test your speed. Then enable them one at a time watching for changes in speed. You may have a single plug-in which is creating the entire problem.

  • One major cause can be coming from the company that hosts you. If the company has a problem with this it is likely to affect your side. You can check out on this and see for yourself. I would also encourage you to disable most or even all of your plug-ins because they too can be affecting your website speed. Test your speed upon disabling and your might find out that they can be source of your problem.

    Venus,

It's not just images that affects site's loading time but HTML size, Script size all these affect loading time of site. Better would be if you get your website's and its pages web analysis so that you could clearly come to know actual factors affecting and see if you could do some more compressing with objects and etc.

website loading speed is depends upon internet spped and the size of the site, your site is light weighted or u r having high internet speed but this things can't effect google's algo so, don't worry.

One way to reduce the number of components in the page is to simplify the page's design.

Combined files are a way to reduce the number of HTTP requests by combining all scripts into a single script, and similarly combining all CSS into a single stylesheet. Combining files is more challenging when the scripts and stylesheets vary from page to page, but making this part of your release process improves response times.
CSS Sprites are the preferred method for reducing the number of image requests. Combine your background images into a single image and use the CSS background-image and background-position properties to display the desired image segment.
Image maps combine multiple images into a single image. The overall size is about the same, but reducing the number of HTTP requests speeds up the page. Image maps only work if the images are contiguous in the page, such as a navigation bar. Defining the coordinates of image maps can be tedious and error prone. Using image maps for navigation is not accessible too, so it's not recommended.

Another good method to improve your site's loading speed which is often overlooked, is to use gzip compression. Good luck.

Use less images in you site. If you want to use images more than cut it into more pieces and use it.
