I use Freshbooks with Paypal, but if you don't want to go the PayPal route, then maybe WHMCS.com along with Authorize.net

Ps. What if instead of hunting people down until they begged you to stop... pre-qualified prospects actually sought you out and asked you what you do and how you do it? Click here.

You might want to check out: Horror Stories: PayPal Did it!

I only got screwed once because of a scammer (stolen Paypal) and my account went into the negatives which I had to cover myself.

Paypal is perfectly fine. The majority of account freezes are internet marketers up to shady business, or have a high refund rate, or something similar that could pull up their risk flags.

It doesn't happen instantly, it happens when trust is lost in the seller.

Yeah, PayPal definitely has horror stories, but I'm sure all of 'em do. The only reason PayPal has a worse rep then competitors is because it has by far the most users, so invariably going to have the most stories to speak of.

I am curious about Google Checkout though. Has anybody tried it out for our line of work?

BTW.. The only "problems" I've had with PayPal are..

When I was trying to make a payment to one of my outsourcers for video creation and the payment would NOT go through. We both contacted PayPal and they kept giving us different stories as to why it was not going through. In the end the verdict was, "we don't really know what's happening", so just keep trying it. It went through after 2 weeks of trying everyday!

I once made a payment to Odesk to fund my account, and they froze my PayPal account for 'suspicious activity', however, I'd made the payment several times in the past, for it to be frozen this time was odd. And, it was a semi-pain in the ass getting the account back up and running. I actually had to send in photocopies of my drivers license and a supporting piece of ID I believe.

But, I'm sure you'll find those problems with anything. And the freezing of my account for suspicious activity is just a flaw in a system that is really their to ensure your security and money!

    Thanks,

    James

PayPal if fine. Just send your clients PayPal Invoices. Everything is within their TOS and you'll be fine. Another option is to get a check writer program. Your Client can fax you a signed check and you can use the check writer software to print a bank draft. It works great!!! Hope that helps.

Millions of us use Paypal and have no problems and if all those stories were true they would be out of business.

The fact is most of these people who have the horror stories are Internet Marketers who pushed the envelope or broke the TOS.

Of course they will all say they were doing nothing wrong.

Dont through out the baby with the bath water.

If you are running a legitimate business you will have no problems and make sure you use a business account
