I am trying to decide what I want on my new business cards. Any ideas on the type of cards you recommend? Also, what would you put on them? I hope to get all this info to someone at Fiverr in next 48 hours. Also, where do you suggest purchasing the cards?

I'm assuming that this is a second or third card design for you. Or that your business is established. Basically never go fancy and expensive on business cards unless you know the business is a long term business.

If it is you need to make it memorable. It needs to be something they will not throw away and that they will even let others see. But at the same time it needs to be about what you do as well. And it has to touch your clients. And it has to make sense with the way you pitch your services.

For example if you work with older and conservative customers like contractors or lawyers you would want a very professional looking card but maybe a plastic see thru one so it stands out next to the others.

If you are talking about the money you can save them and how little it costs you might get a card that looks like a $1 bill.

If on the other hand you are talking about how much money you can bring them in you might make a similar card but on that has $500 bill as the base.

Just brain storm. Google unique business cards. Do all that and find a card that fits you, fits your customers, and stands out from all the others.

Great point I forgot to mention. Always use the backside for soemthing. The cost isn't much more but that alone makes you stand out from crowd.

        For example
        "Hey you... Yeah you
You're not gonna throw me away are you?
Trust me my buddy on the back side can help you get more customer in the doors.
So put me in a safe place so you can find me and my buddy later."

Silly and it gets their attention.

In fact I may use something like that on my next business card.

Also, the ones that vistaprint, staples, etc will sell you are printed on 12pt stock not 16pt and they are digitally printed. If you hold one of theirs and one that was printed on a real press you can tell the difference instantly.

    Most critical info:

    Your Name
    Company Name
    Telephone Number
    Email Address
    Website URL

    Twitter and Facebook are optional.

I prefer to leave the back blank so the recipient can make a note, or I can write a message to the person I'm giving the card to.

Cards are primarily for informational purposes only. You'll determine whether or not someone is going to contact you.

I take the opposite approach - I use a MOO minicard. I use a geeky art piece on the front, and on the back:

      My Name
A Domain - which redirects to my Google Profile
      My Twitter Handle
      My Phone
      My Email

And on the far right, a QR to my Google Profile.

I inevitably get into great conversations with potential clients.

I put a QR code on my latest design. I've found it a good talking point when out talking to local businesses.

I also like the idea of the $50 off coupon - all I used my back side for was my logo and url
